All alive
100% alive. So as a new gardener, I was conflicted about how to deal with pests. I have a balcony container garden high up and to my surprise nature finds a way. I had an aphids infestation. I tried water, blowing them off, neem oil ( did more damage than good), and eliminated my most heavily infested plants( in retrospect I should've just waited). I realized my garden, the soil, and everything in it was an ecosystem needing it's balance. I wanted the predators to arrive but as a balcony container garden high up, I wasn't sure if they would make it on time ( I'm sure they eventually will). So despite the warnings about purchasing lady bugs, I did. I let my 4 year old release them in the evening ( he was delighted). Gave a quick entymology lesson. Expected most to fly off into the big world. But many did stay behind. They'll eventually fly off somewhere but maybe a few will find a home here and help balance my balcony ecosystem. Some tips I believed helped. I sprayed water on my plants ( the ladies are thirsty), released them at night, and had some lady bug friendly plants around. I was surprised all were alive ( many were so still U thought they were dead) but they all eventually crawled out. I'm not sure if my aphids will be kept in check but seeing the lady bugs looking happy in my garden makes me smile.

FAST and Alive
I was surprised, but pleased, when my little bugs arrived in 2 days, considering they traveled from Oregon to South Florida. I wasn’t patient enough to wait until evening or the next morning to release these guys. It rained in the middle of the day and then I released. I placed the open bag on the dirt at the bottom of watermelon and cucumber vines, moving it about periodically. Every bug climbed out, meaning 100% of them were alive. They scurried about on the vines and started snacking. I am pleasantly pleased to report that it has been 2 days, at least 3 thunderstorms, and there are still a few dozen that haven’t flown away. They seem to be happily doing their work and I enjoy checking on them. Win - win.

Excellent general predator and well-packaged
Observed very few deaths in transport. My only complaint is that the packaging is a minor challenge to open (albeit by design to ensure safe transport). They come in heat(?)-sealed rigid polymer mesh "bags" which must be cut open carefully to ensure the beetles are not harmed. I found that watering them in the bag before opening makes it easier as they stop moving to take a drink, and I prop open the bag with a stick to make it easier for them to make their way out. Personally, I would prefer a hard container of some sort with a lid; I presume the larger quantities you can purchase on their website (naturesgoodguys) come in bigger containers, although they are not available on Amazon.Speaking of which, these guys also sell a greater variety of biocontrols on their website, which I will certainly be buying in the future. They even provide a "subscription" service, which is pretty handy.

Too cool
I really enjoyed this process. When they arrived it was almost 100 degrees outside. I brought them in, spritzed them with water (and later with sugar water) and let them cool in the dark for a few hours. We had a storm roll through to dampen everything so I released them before dark. I sprayed the green leaves with sugar water and then released them. Next time I'll cut across the entire top to let them release better. I was racing a lightning storm so it had to be done quick and I only allowed for a small corner opening. By the time I realized my mistake they were flooding the exit and I didn't want to cut anyone by making a bigger hole. They crawled out and moved all over the place. Some went straight for wooly aphids and the aphids jumped right off the plant. It was a great experience. The only thing I regret is that they are shipped in an almost flat mesh screen bag. I was so worried they had been crushed. We did lose some to that very thing. I'd love to have gotten them in a small mesh box of sorts. It would be safer for them and easier to release them for us. That's my only issue. I'll order these again for sure! I checked on them this morning and there were plenty still hanging around. I'm not sure that there were any where near 750 lady bugs in the order. However, I didn't count them all out. Felt more like 200, but I'm aware that they are sold by weight. Thanks for the experience.

Hungry, Hungry Ladybugs
Oh, man! These ladybugs are the best! Last week I noticed a ton of little bugs camped out on almost every leaf on my rose of Sharon in the backyard, and I really hate to put any pesticide out in my garden… so I got 750 of these ladybugs hoping they’d do the trick. They even arrived early! Although, we had a bout of colder weather, so I stuck the box in the fridge for a couple of days until this morning, when the weather conditions were ideal to let them free. I opened the box, pulled out the bag, opened the bag, and the ladybugs began to arise from their slumber pretty immediately… and they went straight for the bugs infesting my rose of Sharon! I mean, it was like watching them at an all-you-can-eat buffet, they were really going to town on those little suckers. I really enjoyed watching them do their thing! There were exactly zero dead bugs in the bag; some of them took a minute to wake up, but they all woke up. Fun to use, effective, durable, wonderfully designed with the booklet that came with it… so very happy with my new friends in the garden!!!

Waste of money
I ordered 2 of the 750 bags but no way was there 750 in each or them. Maybe got the 300 bags instead but no way of knowing. They were all alive far as I could tell. Watered all the plants as directed and released all of them in my garden and potted vegetables and flowers and 3 days later, I can find no trace of any of them anywhere. Don't know where they went but they definitely did not stay in my yard to feed. Total waste of money. Will not buy them again.
