A great American story from Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Gary Ross, Seabiscuit stars Tobey Maguire, Jeff Bridges and Chris Cooper. Based on the inspiring true story of three men - a jockey, a trainer and a businessman - and the undersized racehorse who took the entire nation on the ride of a lifetime. This breathtaking film achievement is "a must-see moviegoing experience" (Chicago Sun-Times) and "a flat-out great movie!" Sea Bisquit - Full of heart and triumph
This is one of the most inspiring well done movies I've ever seen. I was hesitant to watch a movie about horse racing but this was triumphant and full of heart and emotion.. Three broken men come together because of a misjudged horse and through working with him to find his natural spirit and ability, heal themselves as well. The relationship between the 3 is magic. This is a true story by the way and done very believably. Chris Cooper as the trainer, sees something in Sea Biscuit and his quiet love and faith provide an anchor. He also sees something in Toby McGuire - as Red Pollard - a young, already beat up jockey who needs a family... Jeff Bridges as Charles Howard - a businessman who is grieving the tragic loss of his young son.. and has a heart and personality you have to love - purchases Sea Biscuit and the 3 begin to discover his amazing racing ability. William Macy is hilarious as a 1930s radio announcer. Gary Stevens, a real life jockey plays George Wolf and does an incredible job. Very very well done.. never thought this would be my kind of movie but is one of my favorite of all time.

a great story of the underdog during the depression, Seabiscuit
I love the story it took place during the depression when there was a little hope, and this little horse that no one wanted beat Manowar. It was a national event that people took off work. Everyone stopped to hear the great race of the underdog Seabiscuit.

Beautiful movie and story
We enjoyed this movie and story so much. Well done and lovingly told to the masses. Horse stories are the best!!! Now I am also reading books on these great beasts of burden with noble hearts.

Good solid family film
With Jeff Bridges, it's another great film that, with his performance, it adds so much to this. Toby Maguire is the jockey, Bridges is the owner, Chris Cooper is the trainer and narration from the late David McCollough...all mixed in to make a fine story of a race horse who gave a purpose to the character's lives. Underrated.
