This is the best caulking tool I have ever used. It's much easier and less dangerous than handling a blade, and gets ADDITIONAL jobs done. Pros: there are many settings and uses, bang for buck, easy hold, easy cleaning, feels sturdy in all it's settings and I've been successful with all my projects. Cons: can scratch walls if you're not careful, and, if you don't clean the caulking off the device, it can get temporarily stuck

I bought this tool to remove the old caulking around my all-glass shower before applying new silicone. It definitely made the job easier than using a utility knife alone. The tool comes with several silicone finishing pads for different bead sizes, and the remover was helpful for scraping away old caulk. That said, don’t expect it to do all the work for you. You’ll still need a little patience and some elbow grease to remove stubborn or older caulk. Think of it as a tool that makes the job easier, not effortless. Overall, it’s well made, comfortable to hold, and a worthwhile addition if you’re planning to recaulk a shower, bathtub, or sink. For the price, I’m glad I bought it and would recommend it to anyone tackling a DIY caulking project.

Great tool

Didn’t work as well as I’d hoped for old caulk removal. It was difficult to use in corners. I was not able to remove the old caulk with ease as shown. On a positive note it shipped quickly. I may update when I apply the new caulk. But the main reason I purchased this was for easy removal of the old caulk.

This worked great for scraping old chalk off the tub...would buy again

I will be returning this item. I had such high hopes, but alas it was not to be. The concept of this item is great... slice through existing caulk and scrape off. Then, use the included tips (of different sizes) to leave a clean finish. The scraper, made of hard plastic, started to wear away on the very first use. The metal blade was efficient, but also left jagged edges on the preexisting caulk, leaving more work to clean and prep for re-caulking. The tips had a steep learning curve, and it was easier to use my finger to get the finish that I wanted. The caulking tip also tended to slide down the tool when applying pressure. The position of the handle causes it to slide over the scraper and there is no lock to keep it in place. I tried tightening the screws, but that did not work. Clean-up was also unnecessarily difficult as the caulk became trapped under the sliding tip tool. I had to disassemble the tool to clean it properly. I really like the brand (I have several Saker tools), but this one did not live up to the hype.

I'm 80 years old and I could use this caulking tool. You can too!

It essentially works as advertised. It does not do quite as good of a job as I would like in removing old caulking. With that being said, I do not know of any tool better than it.

metal scraper scars wood sills better than removing the old caulk. plastic scraper sort of works but edge wears down too fast. Ended up using my metal gasket scrapper-far better results!!
