The cable is super short for use on Xbox and must be used backwards. But after some fiddling it works

Short, but works in the OG Xbox fine
The other reviews are accurate. An 18 inch cable is short/tight, but it worked fine with my Xbox. The bends weren’t too bad, and as long as you keep it away from the screw posts, just do whatever it takes to make it fit.

just barely fits in original xbox
just barely fits in the original xbox but just about any way you fit it in will look like a sin upon technology but it does work perfectly fine when put in correctlythis cable is basically backward to how the xbox cable usually is causing the comfortable pins to be on the wrong side (youll notice this if you look at an original ide cable vs this one)

Works for my OG Xbox. Barely.
The 18in cable barely barely fit in my original 1.0 xbox. And it works. I did not softmod, I did a TSOP flash with a 2TB Blue. So I cannot speak to whether or not it will work with a softmod.As you can see from the picture I tried to close the case with the cable covering one of the holes where the main screws go because that was the shortest distance between the DVD drive and the hard drive. That was a mistake. The cable will not be able to go all the way under the tab where the original cable goes.The point of this story is to tell you to get a ~24in cable if you are going to be using it in an xbox.

If you are thinking about getting this for your OG Xbox, don't
This cable has the opposite orientation from the one used on the original xbox, meaning that in order to get everything to fit into place you have to make some rather unholy bends to the cable. It took a while to figure out how to get everything to fit. That being said when I did get everything put together I was a little surprised that it did boot as normal (considering the bends that had to be made the cable could probably break quite easily) This IDE cable is holding up though and for most other situations should be fine, but in this case I will probably get a different one. Getting one with the proper orientation will save you a lot of hassle. (2nd pic displays stock cable, pay attention to which way the nubs stick out when buying)

Works in Xbox
I used this to upgrade my original Xbox to use a SATA adapter that I also found here on Amazon. It works perfectly.I didn't realize this, but IDE cables are reversible! You can plug the Master end into the motherboard, and then the previous motherboard end becomes the Master. You have to do this if you want to reach both the CD and HD drives in an Xbox.
