Tired of the long hours at Morgan Stanley and wanting to explore her creative side, Megha took a leap of faith and moved to Hong Kong, China, to pursue a different career path. Taara is an offshoot of a small company that was founded by Megha's aunt, Kalpana Jain, in India. Wanting to revamp the company, design, and clientele, Megha saw an opportunity and took the plunge. This is how Taara was born.Taara comes from the word sitara, which means stars in Sanskrit. This image of stars is reflected in many of the pieces. The stones are sourced in Jaipur and Udaipur, India, and are set in silver with an antique finish.Megha is especially inspired by Udaipur, also known as "The City of Lakes." The many lakes found around Udaipur reflect the beautiful palaces and buildings that encompass the city; the bright colors situated against the water are stunning. Lake Pichola is one of Megha's favorite lakes, as the contrast of the blue lake and the white buildings is ethereal.
