First, the good. This tie-rack has a good capacity at being able to hold 72 ties. This plastic seems to be high quality and not brittle or fragile, hopefully it will be durable for a long time. It also rotates quickly, about twice as fast as my old one that I had for over 10 years. This is better, but any faster would be too fast. (see "the bad" below.)Now for the bad. The button operation is poorly designed. When the tie-rack is rotating it moves very quickly, which would normally be a good thing, however the button used to stop the rotation does not stop the rotation until it is released. My old tie-rack would stop rotating as soon as the button was pushed. The fact that this one does not stop until the button is released in conjunction with the fast speed means that it is very difficult to get it to stop where you want. I keep missing my mark and having to go the other direction. In other words it rotates too fast for the way that the button functions. Its a pain in the butt. (note: it's not me, I am a gamer and have good dexterity and reaction times.) Next, my old tie-rack had a bracket that attached to the back wall to prevent the whole rack from tilting, this one does not and even though my hanger bar is fixed the rack tilts back and forth way beyond my tolerance level. Also, it would be nice if the light was much brighter.As a final note the belt hooks that attach to the underside of the tie-rack are fairly useless but don't get in the way of anything. The hooks are neither a positive nor a negative.Overall, the lack of a bracket to stabilize the rack against the wall and the poor design of the stop-button function were almost a deal breaker for me, as i nearly sent it back. However I decided to keep it because I am too busy to deal with it and don't have time to hunt around for a better designed product. The manufacturer really needs to go back to the drawing board on these two points.

I bought this to replace a worn out one of a different model that was about 20 years old.The good:1. It spins at a good speed and has no effort moving 72 ties. Some said too fast for them. I group my ties by color and know about where I'm going to stop anyway, so I like the speed when I'm in a hurry in the mornings. I felt my old was too slow.2. The lights are LED and consume less battery power than the light on my old one which I disconnected.3. Forward, Reverse and Stop buttons.4. Batteries replace easily.The bad:1. This DOES NOT fit a standard ClosetMaid system rod and does not come with any way to adapt to that (photos). You have to figure out a way to do that yourself. If you can't it will only work without the old style wood or metal single rods. That is why I did not give it 5 stars. They should make it so it is adaptable.Since I liked the product itself, I cut a piece off of a thick weightlifting belt and wrapped it partially around the rod. This gave enough thickness that it stays tight on my rod.

This product is a good idea and installed easily. Unfortunately, the tie rack did not last for 2 months. The plastic tie holder slipped out of the plastic track and the ties no longer rotate. I would not recommend purchasing this item. I have contacted the manufacturer and hope that they will make this right. I did contact the manufacturer and they sent me a replacement unit. It is working well. Kudos to a company that stands behind their products!

Seriously this is the only electric tie rack that works as intended and it is really well made. The quality is really solid and it is not flimsy like the other ones I had experienced so far. It may look like the other ones but this unit just exceeded my expectations. Also the belt hanger doesn't fall off easily with plug and twist system.

Looks great, easy to install and holds all of my ties. I did not install the belt hooks, since I had not desire to use for belts. Only issue, and a rather major issue, is the LED lights will not turn off. I have to keep the control unit disconnected with one battery out and store it on the closet shelf. I would have exchanged the unit but the only option was a return with refund. I have returned broken items before and Amazon immediately sent me another unit and I shipped broken item back in new item's box. I don't feel I should have to purchase another unit, swap the control and then send back. Plus, I am too lazy for that.

Less than 5 minutes from the box through installation. Just what I wanted. I will say that it is fast, which I like since I have the rack pretty much filled and it makes it easier for me.

I was hopeful and excited with the prospects of this product. However, it does not securely connect to metal hanger rods; it slips freely making it difficult to impossible to use. One of the front panel buttons, used to make the ties move, slipped into the case after being depressed. The button couldn't be repaired and no longer functioned. This product simply has a low quality of construction. While I would love to spend $100 for a quality product, I would not spend $35 for this.
