Review: First Blush...Perfect for Minimalistic Travel - Just pleased as punch with this set, and the price I paid. Allegiant has pretty strict sizing and this offered me a personal under seat item and carry-on that made the most of the odd sizing allowed. I was worried from reviews it would feel like my nephew's overnight suitcases when they go to visit grandma, but no, despite being light, this is a perfectly adult-sized set for someone that is looking to travel light. What I'm happy about, is it is a better set in person. Will it hold up? We shall see, but after spending bukoos of cash on an "expensive" carry-on for my significant other that came back shredded after his first flight (non-checked) I swore I was never going to do that again. I was mortified. This looks to be durable however, and there were small touches that just thrilled me. For example, the pockets on the tote and the suitcase zip all the way down the sides so they open widely, but their is a generous liner sleeve sewn in to keep items from falling out. They aren't shallow either and have room up and down and on the sides about an inch so you have plenty of room. There's a little tag pocket on the back and the color I chose–the grey/black–looks pretty stylish, and the little brand tags do as well. I really appreciate the shoe style pockets on lid and the additional mesh. A woman with flats/flip flops could easily fit two pair, but a man would probably need to put a shoe in each pocket. The interior is light colored and neutral. The extra bag flap looks well sewn in and I think with some velcro strapping, it and tote strap can be easily tied up neatly (that was my only complaint - those things flap about a bit when not in use.) That extra bag strap will make a nice way to tie on a travel pillow or coat/scarf however. I paired this with these packing cubes FINNKARE 6 Set Packing Cubes with Shoe Bag Travel Luggage Organizers Lightweight Travel Cube Set Compression Pouches System for Carry-on Luggage Rose Red but be aware you won't be able to use all the pieces - I used the large one as an extra organizer in my closet. My 13-in Macbook Air, in a neoprene style zippered sleeve fits in the tote and if I was inclined to bring my iPad 2 it would fit in the larger outside pocket of the suitcase easily, and my 3-1-1 bag in the top one. The tote pocket is also designed the same as the suitcase, so it also is roomy and should be perfect for slipping in a clutch wallet, and those things I want easy access to - glasses case, phone, etc. I haven't packed it full yet. The tote bag is slightly wider from end to end than the suitcase - maybe by an inch but doesn't look awkward. I don't know if it would tip - the set doesn't sit leaning back on it's footrest, so there is that potential. I didn't see a lot of complaints about that in the reviews so have my fingers crossed with appropriate packing it will be fine. The pull out handle has two stops. We'll see how the handle holds up to repeated use - I do suspect with more expensive sets you'll feel a smoother motion. I actually bought this set because again, my now-disposed-of-more-mid-range set failed too soon in that department. This one at least offers a zippered lining to access that if I need to doctor it. I would say if you're on the fence, don't hesitate to try the set. Although all things are relative, it doesn't present, or feel tangibly as any cheaper than the ones at the 2x-3x more expensive price point, and has been well thought out in terms of function. And, I figure unlike the last purchases, when it does fail, I won't feel like such a schmuck for wasting money!
Review: Great buy for under $100. Six year ownership review. - I purchased this case in early 2018, so have now owned it for six years. I used this case for six flying vacations, each of which involved the case being checked for anywhere from 2-4 flights (usually at least three), and also four cruises, which also entails checking the case with a baggage handler similar to an airline. I also used it for one weeklong road trip. Despite all the reviews calling the quality of this case flimsy, saying they don't think it would survive one flight... This case has performed remarkably well for me when considering the price point. It has survived the numerous trips outlined above (and being handled by baggage handlers) fully intact. The wheels still work great. I love the fact that it is two inline wheels, which performs better than the common four wheel spinner setup on any surface other than a hard flat floor. I attach my carry-on case to this case using a seperately bought luggage strap, and roll across all types of flooring and ground surfaces with no problems. After six years all the zippers still work. At some point one of the zipper tabs for the main zipper that opens the case broke, but not a deal breaker as I can still take the other zipper tab and just zip it all the way around. Other than that all zipper tabs are fully intact and functional, and none of the teeth are broken. I like the two pockets on the front of the case for storing things with easy access. The retractable handle still works fine. As other reviewers have stated, picking up the whole case by this handle is not recommended. The grab handles on the case are still attached and functional. Only after my most recent vacation did I notice some damage to the case. One of the corners has a slight dent in it that I cannot flatten out, and a little bit of tearing to the fabric. When considering the price paid for the case, I am very satisfied for how long it has lasted me. Not wanting to risk further damage, this case is being retired from air travel. But I will be keeping it and plan to use it for any road trips where I need to pack for more than a few days. At under $100, this case is a great value and I'd recommend it to anyone who doesn't fly frequently.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Dose United allow this garment Bag as carry on and fit on overhead locker/compartment yes or no.**
A: NO! they do not. TSA stopped me before I even got to the gate.

**Q: Can someone tell me all the sizes of the luggage? It doesnt give any of the sizes. Thanks**
A: Dimensions: 29 inches high x 17 inches wide x 10 inches deep (expands to 12 inches deep); 9.5 lbsDimensions: 25 inches high x 15 inches wide x 9 inches deep (expands to 11 inches deep); 8.5 lbsDimensions: 21 inches high x 13.5 inches wide x 7.5 inches deep (expands to 10 inches deep); 7.7 lbsDimensions: Travel tote: 15 inches high x 11 inches wide x 6 inches deep; 2 lbs

**Q: Would this be considered free at baggage check for Southwest airlines?**
A: Domestic size and weight limitations for most airlines are a maximum of 62" when you add total height (including wheels), width, and depth. Also a maximum weight of 50 pounds. All airlines will surcharge for oversize bags when this exceeded. This specific bag must be checked and is never approved for carry on.

Southwest, specifically, has a 2 free checked bags policy as long as you comply with the above limitations.

Most, if not all, other airlines charge for all checked bags unless you are a priority rwards member or using their branded credit card. As an example, I am a million miler/Silver Medallion level with Delta. This gets me one free checked bag, second bag is the normal $35.

Bag fees with other airlines usually start at $25 for the first bag, $35 for the second bag. Third bag and higher can be in the hundreds of dollars.

Baggage fees and limitations can vary greatly from one airline to another and between destinations. Also, based upon you frequent flier status with that airline and whether or not you have an airline branded credit card for the line you're flying. ALWAYS check your specific airlines policy before booking travel.

**Q: Can this be used as a carry-on for American Airlines?**
A: My husband has used it as a carry on many many times but has also been denied 5 times or so and forced to check it. (He travels for work)

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Deal on a Utility Mid Range Suitcase.
*by A***2 on January 3, 2021*

I travel often (or at least did until COVID but the skids on open travel) and use a variety off luggage according to what type of travel. I mix it up between flying, Amtrak long distance, rented Rv's and of course motor vehicles. Often in the same trip. The 4 wheeled "spinners" seem the rage right now and I observe they can stay "upright when parked." They are the fad and personally, I think they are just that: a fad. In the airport's there are times when I need to MOVE and the spinners are too cumbersome to move quickly or efficiently. The two wheeled uprights remain the way to go, in my experience. I have some expensive hard sides, yet know how to pack a carry on (without being piggish about the overheads by bringing on a bag anyone with common sense should know violates the rules for carry on's, hint hint. I also own and use some "cheap" soft sides. I have several pieces of luggage and every one has it's purpose. An inexpensive soft side has it's use. Assuming you have nothing breakable inside, they can be tossed, stuffed in between other bags or into a car trunk and are lightweight and pliable. The zipper? Well, it seems like most zippers on suitcases these days. I long for the durable metal ones, but they (the manufacturers) want us to believe these are self healing.... Whatever. I paid less than $35 for this bag on Amzn and that was a steal. This bag hits the "sweet spot" in size as it is fairly portable yet packs a lot. Also, it is not a "high end" bag, but far from being a "cheapie" or "throwaway (I have one of those too). The interior has a nice lining and features a separate zippered "compartment" in the "lid" as well as two stitched pockets presumably for shoes. The outside pockets are ample. It weighs about 8.5 pounds empty which for a suitcase this sturdy is good. A person could get by with this as a carry-on on some airlines as long as you do not overstuff: Please just don't be a jerk about it by being one of those holding the line by struggling with a bag which you KNEW was too large to begin with. It's OK to check the bags. Again, I'm a frequent traveler and I go through suitcases. I like this bag. Is it the greatest? No. Is it a "cheapie?' No. But, I like it am satisfied with this purchase and would buy again without hesitation. A nice piece of luggage which checks the boxes for both size and price.
