Speck Products SeeThru Hard Shell Case for MacBook Air 13-Inch, Clear Matte Frost Finish

Purchased my case under the used section for S.U.B.S.T.A N.T.I.A.L.L.Y less, paid $7.71. The used i selected was the "damaged" package, small rip n corner...case BRAND new, no scuffs, marks, etc!!! Very happy with purchase.NOTE: Decal n pic was totally separate!!

I've been using this Speck case on my MacBook Air for a few months now, and I have to say that I really like it. The color is really nice, and it has protected my MacBook from scratches, scuffs, and from the rubber feet falling off of the bottom of the laptop. The case fits snug onto the computer and is very thin, but sometimes parts of the case can pop off. The quality of the case is good, but it has started to crack in certain spots. It does offer good protection, but it prominently shows scratches and marks and can crack, so if you want to get a long term (more than 6 months) case, this might not be for you.

I have had this case for maybe close to 3 weeks and I have had no issues out of it. It looks like a lot of the negative reviews come from customers taking the case on and off for cleaning as the directions suggest. It cracks during this process. After getting the case on, I do not understand how dirt could get between the case and the laptop. I will just handle removing it if needed (if there is noticeable dirt between the case and the laptop) and if not, leave it on. I would also suggest checking out a few Youtube videos to see the best way to install the case.

BUYER BEWARE! I ordered this product and the first one came. On the bottom part of the case it was warped, which was a manufacturing error that should have been caught through inspection. This means the quality control for Speck is lacking. I am always willing to give any company a break and Amazon was great to ship a new product out. I was excited to finally get the new case on to protect my Macbook.And then the problems only get worse:1) I opened the package and needed to clean the product because it was dirty and full of dust. This is due to the packaging of the product not being sealed completely and probably a dirty warehouse. You should not have to clean a new product!2) The top cover fits perfectly and then i go to put the bottom on. It snaps on the sides fine, but the back piece fits loose. One of them snaps on somewhat okay and the other is falling off every couple of seconds. I can't believe I was given two faulty products. DO NOT buy Speck. The price is outrageous, but I was willing to pay the extra for quality. This is not a quality product. Get the 13 dollar cheaper version, which is what I had and fits much better.3) I did not have a problem with the bottom rubber pieces, but they are removable and likely will fall off and be lost. Yet another design flaw. What a horrible product. At least they gave a refund, but it was not worth my time and trouble.

I ordered the iPearl mCover case for a 13" MacBook Air based on some concerns about the Speck case I had read here. Oh and the iPearl was half the price. Unfortunately, the iPearl was also half the value. It isn't actually clear - more translucent and it didn't fit the Air well. The bottom cover fell off and the top cover seemed to interfere with the bottom cover. The bottom cover also had dozens of rectangular air openings for no apparent purpose.I have the Speck cover for my MacBook Pro and I really like the quality and clear see through of the case. My goal is to have protection without distracting from the beauty of the Apple design. The Speck cover for the Air is of the same superior material and craftsmanship I experienced with the MacBook Pro cover. There are no pesky air opening in the bottom and the shell is a perfect fit.All and all the Speck is the clear choice.

I was a bit concerned having read some other reviews. It fits very well, the little tabs that hold it on are tight and have not broken off, as some said they do, It protects the MB air from scratches which is why I wanted it. Overall, I love the look and the color plus the protection it offers. Having purchased both a satin finish and this hard shell case, I find I prefer the hard shell. The scratches that will occur show a lot less on the hard shell versus the satin.Update - March 7, 2015 - I just scratched my hand on a piece of sharp plastic that has chipped off the speck case. The chip is on the bottom front edge. I wonder if this is because it is a hard shell case and is not that flexible. I take care of this computer and on the rare occasions it travels it is in a protective padded case. I love the color but I am disappointed and am revising my rating down to three stars.

My only issue with this product is insignificant. The rubber things attached to the bottom of the case occasionally fall off in my backpack. Other than that, it does its job well. My laptop is well protected and looks great! Good quality plastic. I wanted a strong case because the thinness of the Air kind of freaked me out and I was worried that it might not keep up with regular wear and tear without a strong case. I'm not sure I was right about that - it probably would have been fine without a case - but it does look good and sturdy.

I got a different Speck case a few months ago and it had cracked rather quickly. It felt like one of the generic plastic cases from unbranded sellers, and I was not impressed with the quality. I ordered this one as it was surprisingly extremely cheap and I was in need of a new case for my laptop. I opened the package and was surprised to see that this one was nothing like the other one! This one is MUCH thicker, matte finish, and the quality is SO much better than any hard laptop case ive ever used. I am extremely happy with this case, as it keeps the original appearance of the laptop with the matte finish while protecting it. This is the first time I trust a case on my laptop to protect it and feel safe using it anywhere I go.

El artículo es tal cual se ve en la publicación. Cumple perfectamente su función y como artículo es perfectamente recomendable como sistema de protección. Sin embargo la parte de arriba venía rallada, perdiendo así calidad y estética visual.

llegó rápido, el ajuste perfecto pero ....8 meses más tarde aparecieron pequeñas fracturas. al principio se ha roto la parte superior (pantalla) y luego la inferior...no volveré a comprar nada de speck

Perfecto, quedo super bien ajustado, el color es super llamativo pero ahi es gusto de cada quien. Super recomendado. Muy satisfecha
