Good value
After a month of use, this ice maker has worked flawlessly. While I was shopping for this I realized that most of the ice makers of this size are made by the same manufacturer with different logos and names and for varying prices ranging from $110 to $210. This was the cheapest of the bunch and I could see no difference in it from the most expensive ones aside from name. It makes ice in 6 - 12 minutes depending on the environment. The cubes are hollow little things but they do the job. We have been using it while camped out in our motorhome. I leave it outside for operation and use it to fill our cooler and also as a replacement for the ice maker in our refrigerator which quit working. We'll see if it holds up over the next year but so far it has been just the thing we needed.

The ice melts as fast as it makes it and ...
The ice melts as fast as it makes it and the basket is so small it is a joke. This huge machine will maybe keep up with one person with one drink at a time and the ice is so soft it melts really fast. I sent it back.

Did not meet expectations.
This was a gift to our daughter. She states that it does not turn out ice fast enough. Very slow to turn out the first 10 cubes, then wait a long time for it to produce more. Definitely not satisfactory for her family.

I use this EVERY DAY!
I use this every day. This is the first ice maker I have ever bought and I compared many over a month or so. I am glad I made this purchase and I would definitely buy again. The time frame is accurate for making ice, 6~12 minutes. The first batch or 2 seems to always be a little smaller for some reason. And the first batch seems to take the longest as well, always close to 12 minutes. But not any reason to knock a star. Still far superior than waiting for the freezer to do it's thing. I drink lots of water and freezer ice cubes seem to always have a bad taste. The "bullet" ice cubes from this machine have a very mild taste. Hardly noticeable. In any other drinks, soda juice pop or a more adult beverage, theirs no hint of a taste at all.The ice "bullets" themselves are not as tooth shattering as freezer ice cubes but they seem to last the same amount of time as regular ice cubes. The Operation:Theres a power button and a ice cube size selection button. Press the power button and choose a size. Defualt is large, but you can choose small if desired. One thing that bugged me about this machine. Lets say halfway through it's cycle you decide you want ice cubes now. So you press the power button thinking that it'll just shoot out some miniature ice cubes into the tray and you could use those. Nope. Leaves the ice cubes in the back of the machine, out of reach. So you press the power button again thinking it'll make double size ice cubes since it already started. Nope, every time it starts up it rinses out the water container where the ice cubes are made, so the half made ice cubes melt before it starts making ice. Irritating, but once again, not enough to knock a star.It comes with a little scoop and a removable ice tray.Overall, definitely 5 stars. I know Rosewill doesn't make their own products, just rebrands stuff as their own. But EVERYTHING I have ever bought that's Rosewill has been excellent. Love the brand and this product!

Very nice ice maker for various odd jobs.
Very nice little machines. Makes the "wet" ice like you'd find at a restaurant, so the ice is very soft and chewable which I love. Many other reviews complain about the ice being wet, but this is not the same ice as what you fridge ice maker produces so it's not comparable. The cycle type is exactly as the description states, a little long on the first batch, then it gets faster. It will fill it's internal bin in about 2 hours or less. Two sizes of ice, but there's not much difference between the two. Great for a non-wet bar, or for using outside the home on a trip or something like that. The water is kept below the ice bin, so it's very well self contained. Ice is made on little fingers that hang down from the top. The fingers get really cold as they are sitting in a small water container, and when it cycles the water tray dumps out of the way and the fingers do a quick warm up to let the ice drop off them, then the ice is scooped into the ice bin and the water tray moves back and is filled for another cycle. And, keep in mind the ice bin is not cooled. This is not a freezer unit and has no cold keeping area. But the ice will keep for at least 12 hours in my tests (only had the unit a few days so far, running almost constantly.) Basically overnight, and it will still have ice in the bin the next morning with very little melted. But don't expect it to keep the ice forever, except if you just keep it running once the ice melts enough below, and allows the level to drop you'll get more ice made fresh to fill it up completely again. The negatives are, it's a little noisy. Not too bad, you can talk comfortably around it, even whisper and be heard just fine. Kind of funny the air fan is so loud since Rosewill makes fans for computers that are extremely quiet, and this one is not. The compressor makes noise too, but not too bad. There is no place to store the power cord when not in use. And, emptying the water is difficult as you have to turn the whole unit upside down to get the water out, it's not that small and kind of awkward to twist around to dump the water. The ice bin has holes in it to allow ice melt water to drain back into the water reservoir, and on the smaller ice size the ice can drop through those holes. Kind of strange they didn't think of that in its design. Plus the lid is a bit odd to open, only has little wings on the side to grab and no indentions to make it easier. Would be nice to have similar on the front of the lid. Enough negatives that I took away one star, and hope Rosewill does a little better in it's next design of this nice little ice maker.

Great ice maker
Great ice maker, just wish the bucket was bigger. Ice gets in the way of the eye to detect when it's filled up and shuts off before bucket is full.

Phenomonal
I purchased this for use at a small hospital in Haiti. It has been in constant use for 3 years now. We have very frequent power outages, surges, and low output. The ice maker has survived it all with no hiccups. I expected maybe a year from it, but it's 3 years old now and still working perfectly.Kudos!!!

Great Ice Maker
Works great. Makes the perfect amount of ice for my needs. Doesn't make a lot of noise. Easy to use. Using very cold water seems to make each batch not take as long.
