Yes but repeated washing will break it down.

can you use this on wood?

I would say ‘yes’ it could be used on wood. I’ve used it on various weights of card stock and the glue adheres solidly and very well! It could possibly rub off with use but it is basically glue with black sparkles in it(!) The Finished texture is a bit rough, not entirely smooth.

Do I need to poke a hole in the tip?

I have a lot of these type bottles, and I have not had to poke a hole in the tip. As for this particular item, I don't remember specifically, but pretty sure you don't have to.
