Vox VGH Rock Guitar Amplifier Headphones with Effects

I love this product for practicing at night after everyone is in bed. I think it sounds ok for this but I was hoping it sounded a little better . Plenty loud though.

I had high hopes for this device. When I received the package I immediately suspected that it was a cheap low quality product. It was very lightweight.The headphones are all plastic, and not the good kind, it feels cheap in your hand. It is definitely not very comfortable on your head either.The only redeeming quality of this is the Amp simulation sounds pretty good.The controls are designed to be a pain in the rear to use. I mean you could not have made it more difficult to turn the knobs on the headphones.I am returning and getting a pocket amp and low cost headphones which combined will be better than this it seems.Too bad as I was hoping an all in one headphone unit at an affordable price would work out.

I looked at several of the Vox plug-in amp adapters and found these headphones with the built-in amp. I purchased the Rock edition and love it. Amp sounds really good and the cord is long and light enough to use without getting in the way. Turn the amp off and they function as regular headphones (with a really great sound). I would recommend these headphones.

So you can plug these phones directly into your guitar, and plug an Aux 3mm jack as well so you can play over a set or listen to Youtube etc. The effects are good. The downside is that the Vol/Gain/Tone/Effect rotary knobs are set very low in the casing and they are difficult to move. Also the marking is very small black embossed lettering on black plastic, so the control knobs are hard to read. So the overall control system is hard work. Also to access the battery compartment there are two very tiny tabs on the back of one ear-piece, and as you may have guessed they are very hard to use to rotate the casing and change the batteries. All in all, nice to use if you don't want to keep sampling the sound effects and play quietly to all except you.
