This book literally transformed our business. Van dykes understanding and compassion for the Business owners in construction industry is remarkable. In my humble opinion, this book as a launching point. You can read the book and implement the concepts within a couple of weeks. From there the sky is the limit. Whether you just want the basics or want to delve deeper into the financial Health of your business through his website, additional reading or the group coaching program it’s pretty much up to you. As a residential building Business owner for over 10 years, we knew how to build great houses but not necessarily how to run a profitable business. After implementing the steps in this book I can proudly say we went from a break even to a healthy 6% profit within about 15 months. A must read for any contractor looking to run a sustainable construction business.

Love the book, Shawn is a genius but you do have to follow the books instructions for it to work. Also he is a human and you can email him and he will get back to you.

If you're a contractor currently or thinking of becoming one. This is a must read "text book" you'll need to study in order to become a profitable contractor. I've read reviews that were disappointing by others and to be honest I was totally shocked! Why? Because prior to reading this I was lost in terms of knowing "my numbers" and knowing "your numbers" is the basis to becoming profitable. There is no contractor that can punch holes or cast doubt on what Shawn Van Dyke has written in this text Even if they attempt to, it should be obvious they don't know their numbers abd haven'tput in the work. The knowledge gained from this removed the anxiety my wife felt, as she handles the accounting, and moved me from working in my company to only working on my company. I broke the craftsman cycle by officially moving into the role of General Contractor running a company as a result. Shawn helped me understand that software also can't run your business but can help you run it once you understand how it should run. So much so, I've not earned a seat at the table as a GC advisor to a very popular and widely used construction management software program on the market today. How? By being able to point out that profitability is the key concern to GC's and specialty contractors, then takeoffs, estimating etc.. It may seem obvious but it's not just as knowing your numbers isn't but should be a well.Oh yeah by the way! I just got back from Playa del Carmen and Tulum, Mexico with my family! Headed to Las Vegas in June and Jamaica for Xmas and New Year 2023.Bottom line, the information contained in this book by Shawn Van Dyke will change your business and your personal life. It did ours and can change yours if you're willing to learn your numbers!
