The dog has to lick the natural rubber and press her/his tongue to get to the treat/spread/food. Remember to train your dog to lick the treat under supervision. It is not a chewy toy! The first couple of times he used it we had to guide him to just lick it rather than try to scrape it with his teeth and all was fine once he got the hang of it. He then became really subdued and his lip and gum swelled right up. It’s much better quality.The only downside is that it takes a little while to clean as you can’t bend it in the same way as the normal lickimats. Best to put it in the sink with some hot water on top to let it soak into the corners. I then use an old toothbrush to get whatever is left out.Highly recommend this though.
