Great strings very responsive

After a few hours, really brightens up. Put on a guitar that needed punchier trebles.

This will be a quick review as I just installed them an hour ago. My favorite thing about these strings so far is the high tension basses. I am familiar with these from other Augustine sets and they seem to be unchanged. The trebles are not as "shrill" nor even punchy as I had been led to believe they might be. This really is my first experience with fluorocarbon strings but I wasn't expecting them to be as warm as they are.. In fact, while I have a taste for the old classic black set Augustines, I have been looking for something with more trebley punch. I'm not sure this set is for me, but it almost certainly will be for someone as it is well made. Coming from a fairly standard set of High Tension Corum/Cristals, the volume is not noticeably louder- though I will certainly report back once I have let these strings break in. One annoyance - and I haven't noticed this before on my other guitar with Augustine strings- The D string is obviously too short. In fact I could do with more material on all the bass strings, but the D is terrible. I actually had to wrap the loose end through the capstan. Normally, I cut all of this off. Again, not sure if that's the fault of the guitar as it's my first time stringing it, but it's the first time i really noticed it being a problem. I've played mostly D'addario and Augustine low tension strings on my Patrie with no issues. I should give these strings 3 stars as they sit now but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt until I get a chance to play them more. They're clearly as high quality as other Augustine strings.

These strings intone well, sound good, and last a good amount of time. The set I have on my Cordoba GK pro Negra for a few months looks pretty beat up now but still plays in tune, and has a decent tone.They are hanging in there, despite of my 2-5 hour daily practice routine. I tried most the well known brand carbon strings and these are what I settled on. ( carbon trebles are all I play because of their superior intonation) These are relatively affordable to boot.

Great crispy sound at trebles...

These strings brightened up my flamenco guitar tremendously. I’m a huge fan of mixing Augustine Regal Blue (high tension) bass strings with La Bella 820 treble strings. That combo provides me with punchy basses and loud/bright trebles. These strings are great sounding.However, these strings are a lot harder to play due to the tension. I like to be able to press soft when I play soft and these strings with such a hard tension disable me from pressing softer. Otherwise, they sound great!

They sound very sophisticated. Clear, bell-like tone, and comfortable to play. There’s not much string to spare, so care needed when fitting, but very pleased overall and will definitely buy again.
