Excellent, simple to apply, effective - a vanity saver :-). I have it for 8 years. Read instructions, apply and enjoy - you should be able to see results in 2-3 months. Keep in mind the following: 1. Once you start using Regaine - you cannot stop. If you stop - all your hair gains will quickly reverse (and likely become worse). So you are hooked. 2. You must apply it religiously and continuously twice a day without fail 3. If you use solvent based variation - you could forget about elaborate hair styling. If it is important for you - use foam instead (which is messy) Finally, Minoxidil is a kind of "all or nothing" treatment. It works brilliants on some people and has absolutely no affect on others - there is seemingly no middle ground. It is kind of pot luck. This is because Minoxidil effectiveness is critically dependent on presence of sufficient number of enzyme sulfotransferase 1A1 (SULT1A1) to convert minoxidil into its active form, minoxidil sulfate. A single individual could have anything between 1 and 5 copies of this enzyme in their genotype. For minoxidil to work, the body requires AT LEAST THREE COPIES. If you are not (eg you have 1 or 2) - you are wasting your money - it is not going to do anything. The probability of having multiple copies is affected by your genetics, in particular ethnicity. For example, percentage of individuals with three or more copies (who will benefit from treatment): Roughly 20% of Hispanic subjects Roughly 30% of Caucasian subjects Roughly 50% of Asian subjects Roughly 63% of African-American subjects I am one of the lucky guys in 30% group with "three or more copies" - so it works miracles for me. There is no standard commercially available test to measure SULT1A1 activity. The best way is to buy 3 months supply and try. If you body responds to it - it will become obvious in 2-3 months. If not - try something else.

This Regaine for Men Extra Strength Scalp Solution has been fantastic for hair growth! Although it's marketed for men, my wife has been using it for six months, and her results are incredible. You can see in the picture that her hair is visibly thicker, with more volume and density—her hair growth has truly improved by 100%. However, there are a few side effects to be aware of: Facial Hair Growth: Since this product promotes hair growth, it may also accelerate hair growth on the face. This is something to monitor. Scalp Flakiness and Dryness: The product contains alcohol, which can cause scalp dryness and flakiness. Using a specialised shampoo helps to manage this side effect. I’ve heard that stopping minoxidil can lead to losing the newly grown hair, though we haven’t stopped yet to confirm. I was using this for growing a beard. I originally used the foam and this worked very well. I wanted to try the liquid as it is cheaper. I’ve now gone back to the foam. I know this isn’t the intended use for the product so I can’t really fault them for the problems I had. But the liquid gave me a terrible rash and very dry skin. I eventually had to stop using it. The foam works really well. Both worked well for beard growth.

Do not buy! I give realistic reviews this has gave me severe dry skin and has flaked my entire ‘Goatee’ I’ve used it 6x it was getting worse and worse started peeling skin off slowly. Thankfully I’ve peeled off the flaky skin and now my chin is smooth - I feel a bit of pain from doing it but using Batana extract oil to smoothen out my Chin. I feel a slight sting but my skin now feels soft again I throw the Minoxidil in the bin’ I would highly recommend not getting this you will regret wasting money like me. Worst product I’ve ever used a complete scam doesn’t work and peels your skin off Buy at your own risk you have been warned!

I use the Regaine foam daily to help deal with a slight thinning of hair on my crown. However, its price has increased by about 30% in the past couple of years, so when I saw that this was much cheaper per ml, I thought I would give it a shot. I won't be buying it again! It is much more tricky to apply than the foam, and the propylene glycol in the solution sits greasily on your hair after application, clearly showing that you have applied something to that part of your head (unless you have extremely short hair). I'll stick to the foam and will just use this up in the evening applications when I know I'll definitely be washing my hair the following morning. Please note that I can't comment on the effectiveness of the solution as I have been using it occasionally instead of the Regain foam, which I have been using for much longer. For the purposes of this review, I have assumed that the solution works as effectively as the foam, and I have factored that presumed effectiveness into the number of stars I've awarded.
