PLEASE READ This Long Review: $75 Won't Feel So Bad After Reading! Stay Happy & Healthy, Friend!
Wow! SO, this IOMA Paris Vitality Face Mask is knock-your-socks off expensive, not going to lie. Currently at the time of this review, it’s priced at $75.50. That’s about $44 an OUNCE, guys. Crazy, crazy expensive.HOWEVER. With that being said…I want to inform you dear readers about something I was recently educated on myself, and something I find very important to tell other women (and men, if you’re a man reading this, too!). The FDA (the Food and Drug Administration), is a government agency in the United States that monitors what goes in—and more importantly— what stays OUT of our food chain, our pharmaceutical drugs, our cosmetics.... (and so on and so forth, etc). They do a fairly good job of this, otherwise consumers in the United States would be very sick, getting ill with things like radiation poisoning (yes, this used to happen)...or skin rashes, etc. and big business would be able to get away with it. The FDA stops that from happening. However, they are not NEARLY as effective, nor as stringent, as the European Union in protecting consumers when it comes to the cosmetics industry. Want to know why I know this?Well, here, I’ll just take a quote from a Connecticut senator, who is trying to work to ban more cosmetic ingredients. Prepare to be shocked and angered.“Many Americans are unaware that they are absorbing untested and unsafe chemicals in their products,” said Alex Bergstein, a state senator who put forward the Connecticut legislation. Bergstein was previously the chair of the Mount Sinai Children’s Environmental health center.“Generally, the EU has got it right. In the US we have a strong favoritism towards companies and manufacturers, to the extent that public health and the environment is being harmed. The pendulum has swung in an extreme way and it’s really going to take a general awakening by the public.”The disparity in standards between the EU and US has grown to the extent it touches almost every element of most Americans’ lives. In cosmetics alone, the EU has banned or restricted more than 1,300 chemicals while the US has outlawed or curbed just 11.”You read that correctly. The EU bans over 1,300 chemicals while we ban 11. Makes me want to cry!For example, CerVe, a brand we all know in the US, is BANNED in the EU. Crazy, huh? They take their skincare seriously for the protection of their citizens. And, you should, too. Your skin is a very precious organ. Work to treat it as such! You only have it, and it wraps you up every day, protecting you from the elements and working so hard to keep you safe.SO. Back to IOMA. Now, recognize that IOMA is 100% MADE IN FRANCE? YAYYYYYYYY!!!! See where I am going with this? That $75 price tag doesn’t feel quite so bad to you anymore? It doesn’t to me, either. Especially when it feels soooo smooth and glides incredibly well onto my skin as the last-step in my skincare regimen. I like to add on top of my (working to phase to all EU branded) toners, eye creams, retinols, regular moisturizers, using this as my sleep mask last. It works fabulously. No breakouts and my skin feels smooth, soft, and refreshed the next day. Like in the description, I tend to use this just a few times a week. I think that’s all that is really needed to give your skin the drink it needs! I hope you learned a lil’ from this long, long review (sorry!), but I want us both to be healthy and happy! Please enjoy IOMA as much as I do!

Heavy Scent
IOMA Paris Vitality Sleeping Mask,This mask is wonderful but it contains a LOT of fragrance and alcohol. I don't mind alcohol since it usually evaporates off pretty quickly and does help some ingredients absorb better but when combined with fragrance, especially when they are in the top 30% of ingredients, it is a problem for my sensitive skin. This has a strong floral scent. The cream also contains colorants which I am not a fan of their inclusion. This mask is super hydrating and is a nice thick cream - not a gel as I originally suspected. There was no description or ingredient list when I ordered this. I found that the scent is just so overwhelming that it ruined the hydrating factors that are really nice. II really hope that they offer this cream in an unscented version since I really love how hydrating it is.This comes in a basic box which is not safety sealed and contains 50ml, it is made in France and there is no expiration date. It should be used within 12 months of opening. The jar is very pretty and is a heavy plastic orange jar with a silver lid which is all recyclable.Key IngredientsAnti-acne: NiacinamideAntioxidant: Tocopheryl Acetate, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Tocopherol, Sodium AscorbateCell-communicating ingredient: NiacinamideSkin brightening: Niacinamide, Magnesium Ascorbyl PhosphateSkin-identical ingredient: Glycerin, Phospholipids, Valine, ThreonineALL INGREDIENTS BY FUNCTIONAntimicrobial/antibacterial: Alcohol, Chlorphenesin, Sodium AnisateAntioxidant: Sodium MetabisulfiteBuffering: Magnesium HydroxideChelating: Disodium EDTA, Pentasodium PentetateColorant: Ci 19140 (Yellow 5), Ci 14700 (Red 4)Emollient: Coco-Caprylate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetearyl Alcohol, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Phospholipids, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed OilEmulsifying: Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate SE, PEG-100 Stearate, Ceteareth-20, Hydrogenated LecithinMoisturizer/humectant: Niacinamide, Glycerin, Propanediol, Pentylene Glycol, Glutamic Acid, Tamarindus Indica Seed Gum, Disodium Acetyl Glucosamine PhosphatePerfuming: Fragrance (Parfum), Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Isopropyl Alcohol, Linum Usitatissimum (Linseed) Seed ExtractPreservative: Ethylhexylglycerin, Chlorphenesin, Phenoxyethanol, Glyceryl Caprylate, P-Anisic Acid, Sodium MetabisulfiteSolvent: Water (Aqua), Alcohol, Propanediol, Pentylene Glycol, Isopropyl AlcoholSurfactant/cleansing: Cetearyl Alcohol, PEG-100 Stearate, Ceteareth-20Viscosity controlling: Cetearyl Alcohol, Polyquaternium-37, Alcohol, Tamarindus Indica Seed Gum, Isopropyl AlcoholIngredientsWater (Aqua), Coco-Caprylate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Niacinamide, Cetearyl Alcohol, Polyquaternium-37, Glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate Se, Peg-100 Stearate, Alcohol, Fragrance (Parfum), Ethylhexylglycerin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Propanediol, Chlorphenesin, Ceteareth-20, Pentylene Glycol, Glycoproteins, Glutamic Acid, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Disodium Edta, Phospholipids, Glycolipids, Tamarindus Indica Seed Gum, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Isopropyl Alcohol, Valine, Threonine, Phenoxyethanol, Disodium Acetyl Glucosamine Phosphate, Linum Usitatissimum (Linseed) Seed Extract, Glyceryl Caprylate, Sodium Levulinate, Sodium Anisate, P-Anisic Acid, Tocopherol, Stevioside, Magnesium Hydroxide, Sodium Metabisulfite, Sodium Ascorbate, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Pentasodium Pentetate, Ci 19140 (Yellow 5), Ci 14700 (Red 4)

Not Impressed, Some Concerning Ingredients
My first experience with the French brand created by Jean Michel Karam. Founded in 2010, after Karam's stint at Thierry Mugler, Ioma, which began as a perfumery, specializes in what they call "personalized" beauty. This overnight skin treatment has a bouncy gel-cream formula that feels great going on and absorbs well, so you don't have to worry about it ending up all over your pillow. It's advised to use 2-3 times a week in place of your regular night moisturizer. The main active ingredient here is skin-smoothing Niacinamide, a fairly common skincare booster. While this felt good on my skin, I didn't notice any benefits, and the ingredient list is somewhat concerning, especially given the high price point. This isn't advertised as a natural product, but worth noting it does contain added fragrance (parfum), potentially irritating alcohol and isopropyl alcohol (both fairly high up in the ingredient list) and several artificial color dyes—as well as a several other ingredients I'm surprised to find in a high-end skincare product.Full ingredient list, via Ioma: Water (Aqua), Coco-Caprylate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Niacinamide, Cetearyl Alcohol, Polyquaternium-37, Glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate Se, Peg-100 Stearate, Alcohol, Fragrance (Parfum), Ethylhexylglycerin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Propanediol, Chlorphenesin, Ceteareth-20, Pentylene Glycol, Glycoproteins, Glutamic Acid, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Disodium Edta, Phospholipids, Glycolipids, Tamarindus Indica Seed Gum, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Isopropyl Alcohol, Valine, Threonine, Phenoxyethanol, Disodium Acetyl Glucosamine Phosphate, Linum Usitatissimum (Linseed) Seed Extract, Glyceryl Caprylate, Sodium Levulinate, Sodium Anisate, P-Anisic Acid, Tocopherol, Stevioside, Magnesium Hydroxide, Sodium Metabisulfite, Sodium Ascorbate, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Pentasodium Pentetate, Ci 19140 (Yellow 5), Ci 14700 (Red 4)

IOMA Paris Vitality Sleeping Mask
My first experience with an overnight sleep mask. How decadent! How luxurious! I love it!! The first time I used it I don't think I was generous enough with my slathering. It didn't feel like it did much. But by the second time I tried it I put quite a bit of it on my face after washing and toning it before bed. I sat up for an hour or so after applying and let it fully dry and absorb into my face before laying down for the night. In the morning my face felt like it had a layer of something dry on it, so I rinsed it with warm water and what was left behind was a glowing, dewy complexion unlike anything I'd experienced in years. Wow! Truly impressed. This feels like a luxury to me and isn't something I treat myself to every day. But about once a week I'll pull this out of the cabinet instead of my arsenal of night time serums and creams. It's like having a day off from skin care where I wind up with better skin. Such a win. Highly, highly recommend this product!I use this product as part of my own personal full skincare routine. Individual results could vary from person to person. Always remember to test new products in small areas until you're sure of any reaction your skin may have to something new.Full disclosure, as an Amazon Vine Voice I received this product at a free/discounted rate. However, I select each individual item for my own use personally and spend at least a month assessing the item before I make my unbiased review.

Luxurious, Floral Night Cream
I was both excited to try this and skeptical. The $75 price tag made me think, "this better be a miracle worker!" When the glossy orange acrylic jar arrived I was anxious to open it. Inside was a a very fragrant floral scented cream. The scent reminds me of roses, not unlike something my grandmother would have used. It makes me feel a little bit like a silver screen diva when I dab it on (no need to slather - a little will go along way). The cream has a lovely texture. The ingredients list several emulsifiers, so it spreads easily on your skin and absorbs well. My skin feels soft and hydrated in the morning after using this. There are some great ingredients in this product including Vitamin C, E, and Niacinamide (vitamin B3). Niacinamide is an anti-aging skincare superstar that is known to smooth wrinkles, brighten skin, fade brown spots, assist skin hydration, and may help improve acne, rosacea, and dermatitis. Most people know the benefits of Vitamin C - it's also skin brightening, and Vitamin E - skin softening. There are also some ingredients that I'm less excited about, mainly fragrance and coloring.I find this product enjoyable to use. It's a beautiful night cream and my skin does feel petal soft after using it, but there are a lot of less expensive products on the market that seem to work for my skin. For my personal taste and budget I'm not sure I'd order this again; however, I'd be happy to recommend it to my luxury loving friends.
