I read some previous reviews and decided I would also wipe each side of the board with water/paper towels. I then wrote on it with liquid chalk (SuperChalks White Liquid Chalk Marker Pen) and it works perfectly. After I'm finished with it, I use water and paper towels to remove the liquid chalk. Recently, I took it to a session on-site and ended up leaving it in my car for 3 weeks (with the chalk still on it). It came off with a little more effort than usual and some organic household cleaner. It's small, but you can still fit necessary info on it. I've done "2015" (large) and "Finally Finished!
