Fast, flexible, easy setup
We've had this thing running for a month or so now. It was a cinch to set up, integration with Active Directory went very smoothly. It has been completely reliable so far and is very fast. We started out with 6 of the helium-filled 6TB HGST SATA NAS hard drives, teamed just 2 of the Gigabit Ethernet ports, and the machine will sustain about 230 MB/s configured this way. Totally happy so far.

Great product from Qnap
We used these for data and media storage quite frequently, and they always perform great. The only thing I wish was different was the rack mounting situation. They don't mount in standard screw type 19" racks, it is made for a commercial rack system. Other than that they are great.

Excellent Storage
This is an excellent product at a fraction of the cost of other brands in the industry. The key is to make sure you use enterprise disks and a good switch. Upgrading the memory to 16 gigs increases performance. We found the 1 gig network connected to a good switch (we used a Dell 6248) created excellent iScsi performance. We are planning on purchasing three more of these units for our sister facilities.
