Will these work for Magic the Gathering cards? And what do you then store these in?

I do not know how thick the magic the gathering cards are but I use them for sport memorabilia cards. The cards I used them for are pretty thick because they have a piece of a jersey or a hat in them. I believe that is what this holder is made for. There is a holder made to hold a group of cards that snaps in to place on the side. I think that may better suit your needs. Once my card is in the holder I normally just put it in a plastic bin I have.

Would this thickness be suitable for displaying a polaroid photo?

No, 130 pt is for a card much thicker then a Polaroid. Probably 55 or 75 pt, but you would have to trim the photo down to a standard baseball card size which would ruin the photo. You would be better off with an Ultra Pro toploader that is photo size...
