The Emperor (Dark Verse)

I don’t think there are enough words to describe how beautiful this book, story, and these characters are! Officially one of my all time favourite series, books, & author. I love getting read brilliant books with incredible people 🎇 “You’re the beat to my heart” Amara has a strength to find herself no matter how hard people try to beat it out of her. Dante has patience, a protective nature, and a hidden cunning nature that’s pure genius! If I can be anything like these 2 I would be proud! Honestly I love that these characters inspire me to be stronger, braver, and more confident. The background to these 2 was so intriguing and seeing their romance grow was stunning! RuNyx builds her characters so well they feel real. The emotions they go through you feel too. There were countless times I wanted to wrap Dante and Amara in bubble wrap and never let them go. The plot to this too blew this world up! Im so excited to read about Alpha next and see how this all wraps up! I’ll say this after every RuNyx book - this is a masterpiece, a work of art, and gorgeous! The writing is so stunning you want to savor every second of this book.

I don't know if I'm ready to process everything that just happened in The Emperor... but here I am, still completely obsessed with this series. After reading The Predator, The Reaper, and The Finisher, I knew The Emperor would be intense, but this book took it to a whole new level. The stakes are higher, the tension is thicker, and the characters... oh my god, the characters! I’ve been invested in them from the beginning, but in The Emperor, the emotional depth really hits hard. The protagonist is still as complex as ever, and the way they navigate their internal and external battles is nothing short of captivating. I loved seeing their journey, and I couldn’t help but feel for them in every twist and turn. The chemistry between the leads? Absolutely sizzling. Runyx does such a fantastic job of building that slow, electric tension between them, making every interaction feel intense and meaningful. The romance isn't just a backdrop—it’s woven into the heart of the story, and it made every moment feel so much more impactful. As always, the pacing was on point. I could not put this book down. Every chapter had me on edge, and I found myself staying up way too late just to keep going. There were twists I didn’t see coming and revelations that hit me like a ton of bricks. The action scenes were gripping, and the emotional moments hit me harder than I expected. And the way Runyx continues to expand the world-building? It just keeps getting better. This book felt bigger and darker, and I’m here for it. I can’t even begin to explain how invested I am in these characters and this world. The Emperor left me wanting more, and I can’t wait for what’s next. Book 1 & 2, The Predator & The Reaper. These books you meet Tristan and Morana. You get emerged into this Mafia crime world. Morana is the daughter of a very known Mafia boss. And she is a bad B!! I really enjoyed her. Insanely smart to boot! Tristan I am still processing to be honest. He is very quiet, brooding, just there type of character. I wanted more of his pov. Which I did get a glimpse of with book 2, and that definitely made me like his character so much more. He is just a very intense and interesting character. Their story is a enemies to lovers trope. Book 3, The Emperor. You get to meet Dante and Amara that actually appear in the first 2 books. I knew I wanted more of them in those books. Something drew me to em. Especially Dante's character. So I was extremely excited when I saw he was book 3. Amara is such a great character. Absolutely loved her. Dante is AMAZING!! Yup I said it. I'm definitely team Dante! He had so many amazing quotable moments. I have about 40 pages marked. Seriously so many! Just loved him, seriously so much. Thier story was so raw and oh so powerful. I couldn't put this book down yesterday. Hooked!!! The duel povs was spot on! Live for multiple povs! Thier story is a childhood friends to lover trope. All 4 of these characters go through so much in thier lives. It gives you all the feels! I really enjoyed the Mafia story in a whole. I just kept getting answers, but then having even more question. Which I love that in a series. When I can't guess whats gonna come from the story. 👏🏻 These books have steam, some dark subjects and overall an amazing storyline with characters you'll fall in love with! Enough said! I cannot wait for book 4 The Finisher now!!!

It was such an intense read, but I really liked it! I can’t put it into words how strong and amazing Amara is my heart broke so much I cried. It has definitely many many trigger warnings so please read them before you read the book. It did trigger some things in me but I knew what I was getting myself into which tbh made the experience way better (better to know before than during!). Dante was a-freaking-mazing I love him so much, everything he did for Amara she is his world and he is hers and it was just perfection!

Can I just give an infinite amount of stars to this whole series so that we're clear how amazing it is? 🖤 As always, I am speechless. Each story keeps getting better and better, despite going through it itself gets harder and harder. Same as Tristan and Morana, Dante and Amara have my whole heart. I love them so much it actually hurts. If you're looking for a fabulously done forbidden love which will wreck your whole being, look no further. This is it and more. Dante and Amara's story is one of a kind, powerful, painful and true in its most deepest and real meanings. Amara is an incredibly kind, sweet, and beautiful soul. She radiates a light in the midst of darkness, and she's someone you'd go to great lengths to protect, to keep safe, and to ensure that her beautiful smile never fades. As a friend, she's unparalleled in her loyalty. Her past is a story of pain that can deeply affect you, but it also imparts an indescribable strength and serves as a powerful role model to follow. I love her dearly. "You’re not going to walk through life, Amara, You’ll dance through it. And I’ll f#%*ing remove anyone who tries to break your rhythm. I promise you." Dante, my goodness. Dante is perfect. I knew he would be, and yet getting to know him was one of the best experiences. He's so sweet but at the same time he will burn the whole world down for you. He's a true romantic, but he's not afraid to venture into the realm of the most seductive and passionate words you can imagine. 🖤 I absolutely adored getting to know the young and teenage versions of Amara, Dante, and Tristan. Even though their story caused a grand ache in my being, I truly loved every second of getting pieces of them which I will forever cherish in my heart. Everything about this book is extraordinary. Ever since I first picked up The Predator, I became addicted to RuNyx's books and her writing. There's no turning back for me now—I'm hooked, and I couldn't be happier

The Emperor is the first dark mafia romance that I read and it's the third book of The Dark Verse series. I wasn't sure of what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. It's interesting how the story is written because it's start when the characters are kids and we get to see them grew up into adults and see them through each steps of their relationship which I appreciated because it made me understand them better. Their love for each other is truly magical and Dante protectiveness and sweetness toward Amara, despite is mafia boss status is what I love the most in the book. Amara is the strongest women ever, I'm really impress with the way she overcome her extremely traumatic experience. Dante and Amara trust for each other is impressive and all the years they had to hide made them strongest together at the end. The writing is well balance between Amara and Dante's relationship and the investigation they are working on which is why I had to read the other books in the series.

I really expected a perfect book, but I managed to exceed all my expectations. The whole development of the story, the knowledge of the characters, understanding who they are, who they become from teenagers to the present day, was wonderful. The story is not tiring, because this is the wonderful thing about this author. The way she conducts the whole plot involves and leaves you glued to each page, afraid of missing something important. And the characters, I don't even know how to describe them. Amara, an incredible force, a pure soul who suffered so much but did not withdraw. Her love for Dante, from a young age, when he couldn't even imagine. Her friendship with Vin, her struggle to get through hell, even though there was always something trying to pull her back. A real queen. And Dante, what a man. A mobster, a bad guy, a man who has darkness inside him. But the most incredible thing, without any fear of loving, without any fear of showing that you love, without fear of fighting to have your queen beside him. No more women, no broken men who need to belittle the girl to feel better. No. He honors her once he finds out how important she is to him. He fights with all his might, so that she can rule alongside him, and when it does, he is not afraid to show everyone who she is to him. The story is full of mystery, with a lot of action, many very shocking scenes, many hots scenes but within the measure, a lot being revealed and many that still need to be clarified. The author leaves us captivated by everything, and just wanting even more. The difference of this book to the previous ones, is that Dante is an open man, different from Tristan, and for that reason, I cannot compare any story, because for me the two have an intensity in different ways. But the one with more dialogues and more feelings. And speaking of Tristan, who is in love with him, will have many doses of Morana in this book. We can kill a little bit of homesickness for these two and know a little more about his friendship with Dante. Incredible book, Runyx only surpasses itself in each book released and I am suffering, because I want much more. I want Vin, I want to know how everything is going to play out, I want more from Apha (intriguing character). I want more from this class. Read, I find it very difficult for any other book to overcome this one this year for me. I'm sure it will be my best reading of the year. Perfect!

The Emperor" by RuNyx, the third book in the Dark Verse series, has me hooked. Dante and Amara's chemistry jumps off the page, and their relationship is just fantastic. The characters have real depth, which makes their story richer and more engaging. For me, this stands out as the best book in the series. The story keeps you guessing, with plenty of unexpected turns that'll have you glued to your seat. RuNyx's writing pulls you in, as always making this a definite five-star read.
