Great machine
We previously had a cheap shredder at home that could cope with a few sheets at a time. It is noisy, overheats and messy. I bought this because we have a bit of a backlog to shred , so I thought loading 50 sheets at a time will be much quicker. It is. Quicker, quieter and less mess. Shredding is all in a pull out drawer. Seen a couple of reviews that talk about the auto feed stopping because the shredding piles up in the drawer, and yes it does. But it is advertised as 50 auto feed, and if you empty it after every 50 it wouldn't happen. It's not got the capacity to keep swallowing 50 sheets and not complain about filling up. I've had a couple of jamming problems but my fault for poor loading of shredding, throwing in some random non A4 stuff in the auto feeder. All in all it's a massive improvement over the cheap little small shredders but neither is it something you can keep loading with paper and expect it to have capacity to not need emptied all day. For me, delighted with it.

A good choice for shredding paper
This machine is a pleasure to use. I have it in a home office and its excellent. I am not shredding large amounts of paper, but it has the convenience of dropping the odd sheet in the 'letterbox' or placing small (or larger) numbers into the bulk feeder. I had seen several reports that this machine was prone to jamming, but if used with care, no problem. The bulk feeder takes each in from the centre of the sheet, and pulls it down from the middle (hence feeding double), if it has a problem with this feed, it just reverses and then takes it through. It is automatic, and just as it's intended. I have just disposed of my old (quality) shredder after about 25 years, but this Rexel is an excellent replacement.

Great shredder
Excellent. Bit of an effort to empty the bin but works well. Doesn’t seem to get jammed. Like the automatic feeder.

Beast
This thing is an absolute beast. Also slightly bigger than I thought which is great considering all the shredding I needed to do. Documents and junk mail I had built up and my old shredders just couldn't handle it all. One very old strip cut (not very secure) and a cheap single sheet crosscut that just wasn't up to the job with a very small bin. The drawer on my new one is really spacious, it has wheels on the back to mack pulling it out when full and pushing it back in a lot easier. also the firm locking action too. Top loading door is a bit hard to open but it's good so I can load it up with a load of sheets/junk mail, close the lid and it auto starts and keeps going until it is done. Can feed in sheets induvidually through the top as well, love the rollers that feed sheets etc through as well. Best shredder I ever owned worth every penny of the £155 I paid for it. Did arrive a day late but that's not an issue. Would highly recommend if you have loads of shredding to do.

DON'T buy it!
I purchased what I thought was a decent paper shredder, but I wish I hadn't bothered. It is a very poor design and I definitely wouldn't recommend it. I can honestly say, I wouldn't even buy it at half the cost. Feeding the paper through the top is fine, but putting a stack of paper inside is a challenge in itself. If the paper has been removed from an A5 envelope it will have a crease in the middle and if you load the paper with the crease going down, the machine eats too much and the paper jams. The basket needs emptying far too frequently and not because it is full. It is less than half full but the shredded paper has gathered directly under the paper cutters, like a mountain. The basket itself is not just a pull out drawer, it is positioned underneath the main unit which needs lifting off everytime to empty and is extremely bulky and heavy. The paper sticks to the underside of the cutters and when lifted up goes everywhere.

Good Effective Shredder
This appears to be a substantial piece of equipment. I have used it a few times so far and it has worked perfectly. On the basis of this short trial, I would recommend it. It is quite large so it needs a good space to fit in the study.

Incomplete
In the advert its has wheels on it, these were either missing or no longer supplied, you do need them imo, its is big

Quick, quiet, resists jamming, easy to empty
We’ve been using ours for several months, mainly to deal with the personal effects of a serious “hoarder”. It is small enough to be stored easily and transported to where it is needed, but big enough to shred several loads of paper quickly. The feeder means you can load it and get on with something else while it does the shredding, then empty it, then run it again. I’ve used a similar one from a different manufacturer where the blades became badly clogged, but this one doesn’t suffer from that at all. When it eventually stops to avoid overheating, it’s best to leave it a while to fully cool down. Otherwise the gaps between stops seem to get progressively shorter. We use oil sachets to keep it lubricated, and they seem to clear out any remaining scraps of paper in the cutters. To empty it, you lift the entire shredder off the bin. Some reviews say it is heavy to lift, but we’ve found putting it on a kitchen worktop means it is just the right hight to make it easy to lift the shredder off the bin. Very pleased with it.
