Megasketcher TOMY Motorised, Magnetic Drawing Board, Kids Doodle Boards, Large Writing Pad with Magic Motorised Eraser, Travel Games For Kids Aged 3 Years and older, 45 x 30 cm

Bought this mostly because of the ‘stamps’ feature. The magnetic pen works perfectly for young toddlers who can’t hold a pen properly. It glides smoothly on the board without having to use any pressure. Much better than the smaller board versions, where the drawing looks like a line of pixels. Size is good, big enough for those scribbles toddler tend to do at young ages. Managed to keep my little one busy exploring his new scribbling abilities! Also good for older children when they start drawing and writing. It’s nice to keep it in the car for a mess free activity.On the other hand, erasing all those scribbles wasn’t really effective. You need to go back and forth several times and even then some of the marks just fade and don’t disappear (see photo) Disappointing! Also the board isn’t connected tightly to the plastic frame which made it even harder to erase.The quality, as expected from Tomy, is good. Such a shame it doesn’t manage to erase well as it’s a great toy!

Not at all what I had expected! Bought this to stop my little writing on walls! Little did I know this would be a regretful purchase. Likenothers have stated, it simply does not erase, have to move eraser up and down several times to see the drawing cleared but not 100%. Aside from the the eraser is very stiff for even me to use, so little one gets really frustrated when he can’t erase!Not at all what I had expected from Tomy! Had one years ago and that was excellent, can only say the quality is not the same anymore! The shapes once in are so hard to get out for the little ones, just notbvery child friendly!

Remember this as a kid? It's funny how despite new technological innovations and products, some classics still survive and thrive. For budding little artists and little kids who just enjoy a scribble, this is a toy that will keep them occupied for ages. No batteries to charge, no instructions to read, no supervison required.Simple and easy to draw with the attached stylus, a quick swipe with the button and you're left with a clean slate. Intuitive and easy fto play with for kids, not many movable parts, making it it robust and longer lasting. Big play area and sturdy enough to take a hammering, but light enough to hold ( handle helps with portability) and use for little hands.It's a deceptively simple toy but the reason why it persists, is because it very good at what it does and kids enjoy drawing with it and developing their imagination. You could spend a lot more money on toys that become rarely used and disguarded, but kids ( and adults!) will always be drawn ( no pun intended)) to this

I bought a Tomy Megasketcher at a car boot sale 10 years ago, looks just like this but yellow and blue. It was probably the most used toy by my eldest, and I've reccommended it to many people over the years. Recently my younger daughter started to use it a lot, and as the screen was a bit damaged and marked by this point after over 10 years use, I decided it was well worth an upgrade.The newer model now being sold is disappointing compared to the old. We haven't really had problem erasing as many reviews mention, and the lack of automated erase isn't an issue, but the drawing is a very faint gray, not the clear dark lines like the old. The screen generally seems cheaper. The stamps are hard to remove and place back in and load already. I've given it 3 stars because my daughter has spent every available minute on it over the last few days, so thankfully it doesn't bother her as much as me.

This product certainly looks good. I liked the fact the writing 'pen' was at the bottom meaning it can be used in either hand but, unfortunately that is where my praise ends. the slider for removing the writing was so stiff we adults found it tricky to use. when we did manage to use it, the drawing took several attempts to clear. my grandson soon lost interest in it as the screen did not clear. the writing/drawing was also very pale. I did realise it was not colour like some of the ones on offer but did expect the result to be clear and reasonably dark, which is was not. I have returned this product and would not recommend it to anyone, sorry.

Fast delivery. Great board, funnily enough I didn't buy this for a child. I got it for my second year medic sister who prefers to use these to scribble her revision on furiously so that it helps her memorise - as opposed to wasting a few trees worth of paper every semester. It's been great for that, my little brother also enjoys playing with it when she doesn't use it, for what it's worth. It's a bit more expensive here than it was in store, but I needed it fast at the time which is why I bought it here.

I have bought the cheaper branded sketchers for my kids, but they are always poor quality, and the "honeycomb" effect on the drawing pad is poor and doesn't look very clear.With the Tomy, its a very fine, almost sand effect on the drawing pad, and the pen draws a very nice clean thin line, letting my kids draw much clearer, and write much neater letters/numbers.Definitely worth paying a little more for the Tomy.

This is a great size sketcher, I brought is for my then 2 year old and it's lasted so well. 3 years later and another child and it survived until it got jumped on while it was not laying flat!The magnetic pieces you get clip in really well so do not fall out and the shapes look exactly like they are supposed to. The pen is nice and strong, well made and thin tip which allows good drawing. The string was a bit shorter than I expected but it did not effect use.The eraser works well, and clears all of the drawing on it. The sketcher is a good size for carrying, by myself and my children.One of the better sketchers I have purchased and would recommend for any parents out there wanting a strong reliable one.
