You could use a small carabiner to hook the two together. I have a smaller Maxpedition pack, and I had no problem attaching these to the zippers. It helps to have a thin pointy tool to help pull it through. But otherwise easy peezie! **Q: Once you replace and install the new zipper pulls are they firmly in place aka there for good?** A: Yes..They loop back over themselves. They will not come off.
