SPEYEGUARD Stationary Peephole Cover-HB-Satin Nickel-Glossy-Metal Plated Finish

I threw it away. I unfortunatley bought (2) one for my door, and one for my sister's family's door as a gift at the same time. BIG MISTAKE.So frustrated with this product.I recieved them after a week and a half. Paying 10$ for shipping these cheap PLASTIC covers that claim "Satin Nickel" and "Polished Brass"! They're not metal. They weigh 9 grams and I was too embarassed to attach them to my door, or give the other as a gift to my sister.They are ugly and cheap and now in the trash. I'm out nearly 40$ for something only fit for garbage for this greedy company. It's not worth the frustration of dealing with them to try and return them. Horrible product. For 40$ it should be made out of metal at least.Only silver lining is that I didn't drill holes in my door for this piece of plastic rubbish.I'd rather put tape over my peephole.

I didn't need the privacy factor - I live in a townhouse and have a screen door over my front door, so there's not a whole lot of reverse peephole peeper issues, but I do love me a gadget, and this is a gadget. Easy to install. It slides up - I didn't know that.It also feels more plastic-y than metal, but I think that's because of a scratch protector coating. The directions basically tell you which way is up and how to put the cover on it. The rest is a no-brainer.

The speyeguard stationary peephole cover did not fit over my peephole because center ring was too small. Also, this is a cheap plastic dull silver color, it will not match my other satin nickel hardware knob and hinges. I would recommend the vender to note the size of the center hole. For pratical purposes, it works, but for the price, I would be led to believe this were a bit of a higher grade.

I knew this was plastic before I purchased this only because other reviewers had mentioned it. They should change the description from "metal plated finish", because it is a little misleading. The design looks nice and the sliding cover works well once the unit is attached to the door. I did run into a problem of fitment though. The inside piece that you attach to the door was too small to fit over the Black Metal 290 Degree Wide Angle Peephole Door Viewer Scope. It almost fit, but would not lay flat to the door. I had to use a file on the backside of the unit to increase the size of the inner hole. Once I did that, the unit fit over the peephole viewer like a glove. Aesthetically, you cannot see the slight modification I made. The unit works great. The sliding cover is easy to lift up, and falls down on its own when you let it go.

I thought it was metal, maybe I will read the description next time... but as an interior peephole cover, it is perfect.

This peephole cover does the job of closing the peephole when you're not using it. A little less cheap cover would be nice. I've noticed that when you open it, it transmits some scratching sounds through the door, giving you away. It also is scratching the paint on the door above it a little. But it is the best solution available right now.

This is a great addition to my satin nickel hardware on my entrance door. Plus, it makes me feel safer - much safer. It would be great if this piece would be available in actual satin nickel, not just a look alike plastic. The plastic is fairly refined in the details and fits the spy hole very well.
