I have never had a problem with compatibility. I also own both mixers. **Q: how wide is the opening?** A: The rollers are just over 5 1/2 inches long. The opening at the largest setting (#1) is about 3/32nds (not quite an 1/8 of an inch). At an 8 setting it looks about 1/32nd wide.
