BIOSTAR TB250-BTC+ 8 GPU SUPPORT LGA 1151 Core i7/i5/i3 LGA1151 Intel B250 DDR4

I have a mini farm running 1080 Ti's with all Biostar TB250-BTC & TB250-BTC+ motherboards. I'm in the process of swapping all the 6 GPU version to this 8 GPU version.I did notice there are couple different BIOS version as the menu seems different from one another (I have 8 of these motherboards mixed). In either case, plug in the first GPU directly onto the motherboard, do all the updates if you're running Win10, disable the power/sleep options as well as Windows Defender.Also, run only one stick of 8GB (some say 4GB is sufficient) and Celeron 3930 processor with stock heatsink. Any cheap SSD will work fine (Sandisk 128GB is all I run). For the riser, I use Onvian brand sold here on Amazon.You absolutely have to start with one GPU or you'll have a helluva time trying to have Windows recognize the cards. You don't even need to download Nvidia's driver; let Windows do that for you in hardware manager. After the device manager is all up to date, then you can plug in the second GPU, update and so on. Sometimes you may be able to just install rest of the GPU's and let Win10 recognize and update accordingly.I've yet to have any issues while I run my rig 24/7. This is a great price for a 8 GPU as I find most 13+ GPU motherboards don't support all Nvidia and need to be mixed. Or you'll have to run SMOS or other O/S which I honestly have not dove into. For my rig and size, Win10 works just fine and it has been very stable.No BIOS updates are necessary IMO. Just a simple motherboard that does the job!

Really love this board. Have had no issues with it. Currently running 5 GPUs - great for expansion (versus maxing out at 6). Have another mobo from a different company for my first rig and had some issues with it - but this board - no issues whatsoever so far. In use for around 5 months. I'll max it out in a couple more months for a full 8 GPUs. Definitely will pick up another Biostar for my next rig. I think I'm fairly typical of small/medium miners and I think this is a great value and trust the Biostar name.

The board advertised dual channel memory, but didn't work with DDR4 2400 memory and a 7th gen core i7 processor. I thought, okay I'll flash the BIOS to the latest, but the BIOS flash functionality wouldn't work on boot, and attempting to use Biostar's tool to update the BIOS blue screened the machine.Finally, if your planning on mining with newer GPUs - forget it. The board only supports PCIe 2.0 GPUs, it will not recognize PCIe 3.0 GPUs.I will be asking for a refund.

The negative reviews put me off at first, but it's an ok board so far. Don't expect to just plug everything in and for this to run. For example, I had to flash the bios and make changes, then figure out why some of my GPU's weren't being found. Turns out, after the second GPU, I had to install each one, one at a time and reinstall the NVIDIA driver for each GPU. Never would have guessed.Aside from that, the board doesn't consume much power with my Intel Celeron 3900, 60 GB SSD and 8 GB RAM. Less than 100 watts. All the PCI ports work so far. It was restarting every two hours, but I had to increase my virtual memory and now it seems stable. My 5 GPU's are Gigabyte 1070 TI's. I'm also running dual PSU with an Add2PSU adapter.I'm giving it 4 out of 5, because it does what its supposed to. I may get an ASUS next time, but we'll see how long it lasts.

Item received was Dead On Arrival. I am sending the unit back hoping for a full return/refund. I cannot confirm the unit I received was used, but there is usually a seal sticker on the anti-static bag for new motherboards. This bad did not have one. I am not thrilled, because the price of this board has tripled from the vendor between the arrival of needed components and then finding out it was DOA. Based on previous reviews this seems about par for the course with this board not working. Hopefully, I am fully refunded for the DOA board.
