Great Tasting D.P. But the Price!!!
I'm a "can't do without my Dr. Pepper" fan since a child when only pure cane sugar was used in cold drinks - impossible to find for years now!. Saw these bottles on Amazon and despite the exorbitant, unbelievable cost ordered a set. I LOVED EVERY MINUTE DRINKING THEM!! But gouging doesn't fit into my slim budget now, so I've gone back to the Dr. Pepper bottles w/artificial sweetener. . .but limit my intake severely. If you've won the lottery, you can afford to pay the price. But I do consider it a huge rip off!!!

Pricey, but the best Dr. Pepper on the market
I've recently switched over to only drinking soft drinks made with real Cane Sugar, in moderation of course. This is the only place I can find the "Real Sugar" Dr. Pepper on a regular basis. None of my local grocery stores carry it, even after asking, so every couple of months, I resort to ordering this. There's nothing like an ice cold Dr. Pepper on a hot summer day.

Very close and better than high fructose corn syrup version!
Firstly, I'm from Texas and drank Dr. Pepper growing up as a kid. It's hands down my favorite pop (or soda if you're from the west coast LOL). It's been years since I drank a "real" version w/ cane sugar, so this was a splurge. @ $3+/bottle it took me awhile to justify the price. It was worth it! It came packaged amazingly well with individual packaging for each bottle + 4-bottle cardboard holders so I could move it from the larger shipping box to individual holders. Nice touch! So 5-stars for the packaging. These are real bottles w/ real sugar. But what kind of sugar? My first bottle was heaven, considering it had been so long since tasting the real version. Perhaps my tastebuds adjusted, but the rest didn't quite hit that true Dr. Pepper flavor. It tasted closer to root beer sometimes. The ingredients on the bottle says "sugar", not "cane sugar". Therefore I can only assume this batch (or all batches) was made from beet sugar. It wasn't quite as sweet as a cane sugar version. Still it is better than the high fructose corn syrup which is nasty and hella bad for us. I'm trying to source from a local bottler because at this price, it would be worth it to buy a lot. It is a luxury item @ almost $40 for 12, but a fella's gotta splurge occasionally. If I can't find a better cane sugar version, I'll probably buy this again but not regularly...at least until the price comes down. :)
