Magic Unchained: Half-Blood Academy, Book 4

Half blood Academy Books 1-4Half blood Academy was the first book I've read by this author. And I must say, by chapter one of book one, I was hooked. From the writing style of the author, to the world building and humorous main character, I was positive I had a new author crush. I felt book one ended way too soon, and not just because I wanted more (yes, cliffhanger), but because it really was a short book. But lucky for me, book two had been released already and so I quickly finished that one as well (another short book with a cliffhanger). Although i only had to wait a few weeks before book three was released, for some reason the series was losing its magic for me. I loved the characters(all of them), I loved the humor and strength of the MC, but when you've had time to read half a dozen other books between installments, the relationship you had with those characters isnt as strong as it was. I was nowhere near as excited for book three as I was for book two, and the wait between three and four had been filled with several other series that were still fresh in my mind. And I think the biggest mistake an author can make is to split a good sized novel into four short books, because those who started the series prior to all the installments being released, aren't likely to avoid reading other books while waiting for the next of these to be released. Which means we've allowed other characters into our hearts, allowed them to bring us to laughter and to tears, and are most likely still thinking about the last good book we've read while trying to get reacquainted with these characters. So while the wait wasn't ridiculously long, I think that it would have benefited the author to have waited until all installments were complete before releasing them, or to have put them into one, good length book. I have Kindle Unlimited, but I know for a fact that had I had to purchase each book, I would not have bothered past book one. Because I absolutely hate when you're sucked into a story just to find it ends in a cliffhanger and what could have been one amazing book, is broken down into smaller books. To me, that's nothing more than an author taking advantage of their readers. I have removed many authors from my favorites list for This very reason.So despite the world building, the crazy but funny characters, and the great storytelling, each wait for the next book had me feeling less and less excited. By book four, I had put the book down twice by the second chapter because i just wasn't feeling it anymore. And the worst part is that I know I would have loved this series if I could have read it all at once.So while the series as a whole (if read as such) is five stars, the short installments and the wait between them ruined it for me. I have completely lost interest. Especially after skipping to the end of book four to find that, not only was there another book coming out, but that book four was even shorter than usual as the book length included the first chapter of book five. Maybe it's just me, but I cannot stand when an author does this, and it's an injustice to her talent. My new author crush lasted as long as book one. I'd suggest not reading any of these books until the series is complete , and only if you have Kindle Unlimited. Otherwise I won't be alone in my disappointment of the series ' execution

This is the 4th book in this series, and they must be read in order to understand what's going on. They are all amazing books, and I highly recommend reading everything by this author.I've said it before, and I know I'll say it again, but Meg Xuemei X is one of my favorite authors. She creates complex, interesting characters, writes passionate sexy scenes, and fills her stories with excitement, adventure, and humor. This one starts out a little darker than most, but Meg doesn't dwell in that darkness for long. The story quickly takes a fun turn and introduces some fun new characters that I wouldn't mind revisiting with books of their own (I'm looking at you, Loki, and your yummy Duke friends).Marigold is starting to accept who she is and even though she isn't totally sure what she is capable of, she is embracing it more and more. She is strong, fierce, determined, and dangerous. She is also funny, easily distracted, and makes me laugh. Her insistence about being not being protected and acquiring a bad a** nickname is one of my favorite things, and every time one of her men call her by their personal pet name I giggle. Another thing I love about this one is the slow build-up to the romance. The attractions are instant, and lust is a real thing, but the emotional connections Mari develops with her men is built upon as the story progresses. That makes the relationships believable.Overall, this is an exciting read with amazing characters, an well-developed story line, and had me reading late into the night because I couldn't put it down. I can't wait to see where the adventure goes.

Holy smokes Marigold or Celeste whatever you want to be called how does one story have so many crazy twists. This series never goes the way I expect it to and is constantly surprising me I love it!!!

This series is so wild. Went into it expecting it to be decent, but between the humor, the strength and fight from the MFC, the romance and developing relationships between her and her harem, and the PLOT-oh lord, the plot- this is easily one of the best and most unexpected PNR’s/RH’s I’ve had the pleasure of reading. Nothing ever feels forced or over done, and the story keeps getting more and more interesting. These characters are so easy to read from and it’s just such an enjoyable read.

Waking up in some kind of coffin after stabbing herself in the heart in front of her demigod mates...Marigold/Princess Celeste can't move a single limb but her mouth doesn't have a problem. Loki, her cousin and heir of Lucifer begins explaining that Ares and Lucifer had cut her open numerous times to try and steal her powers. After that failed, Loki, who has a reputation of breaking anyone, starts negotiating with them to take Marigold to torture. In this book we find out Loki real intentions and after he brings her to his castle in, Hell, Loki explains, she has to attend, Hells academy but not before, Mari has to fight for her life with 500 others to attend... Fun fun... Hector, the god of death, has the gift of a one time, bringing someone back from the dead, which keeps the four demigods from destroying earth and Hell, apart.. He finds her while they both are dreaming and Hector makes her feed to refuel Marigolds titan power.This book in the series is a fun read and I'm going to have a heck of a time waiting for the next book...Grrrrrrrrrrr

Yes yes...yes this book is amazing and can’t wait to read the whole series of another books to go. I love Marigold she is so strong and sassy that you can’t help loving her. An her demigods are sizzlingly hot and are major alphas. This book is proving to have lots of twists and turns that feel like I am going to devour these books one after the other.

Each chapter she seems to get a slight bit more power and be able to do something that made her that little bit stronger . I did enjoy This book and loved the last chap about the void. But I did think this book was repetative about loving her mates about hating Loki over and over. I will be reading the next book without a doubt .

This book still grabs you and takes you on a fast paced twitsy ride. Once Marigold wakes in hell she is put through several hoops which she fully exploits to her advantage. Her four hot demi God men morn her loss until they find out she's alive and fight for ways to get to her. Without giving anymore away all you need to know now is you need to pick up this book. #teamhectoraxelpaxtonzac

Loved it book. Four was so good i liked the steamy scenes and how the each sacrificed them selves for each other loved loki he started off as an enermy then he became an ally super keep it up waiting for book 5
