I have a Toro snow blower that only gets used about once every other year. I can never get all of the gas emptied out of the carb when I put the snow blower away. Next time I use the snow blower I have to take apart the blower to get to the carb to clean it because it won't start..... Adding this valve saves me about 45 minutes of taking apart the snow blower and cleaning the old gas and gunk out of the carb to get it started. With this valve you connect the Gum Buster cleaner, give it a couple of shots, wait and let it do it's magic..... and voila - snow blower starts right up!!!

I had forgotten to burn all of the gasoline out of my Honda residential snowthrower at last years end and had a problem getting it to start this year. Having looked for a quick fix I found this product. Although it was not a quick fix it was easier than taking apart the carburetor so I bought it after watching some videos and assuming the negative complaints were from people not doing it right. I was wrong. I should have instead purchased a new carburetor for about the same money and saved some aggravation. I watched the Youtube videos before purchasing on how to use and install this valve and cleaner on my Honda snow thrower and then rewatched them again after I received the item as I was installing it. The valve fit fine on the machine and I had high hopes but after repeated clean purging attempts failure remained. So now I knew this product was unable to save me. I then disassembled the snowthrower (remove chute and top cover to gain access to carb) after taking the carburetor apart I found that the jet facing the newly installed cleaning valve was still plugged. I had to use a #22 wire to clean that inlet jet. That was the only part plugged up. I gave it a fair try, maybe you will have less varnish in yours than mine did. PROS: - Purge Valve fits carburetor bowl CONS: - FAILED - Did not clean my carburetor, I had to take it apart after trying this quicker attempted fix

Second time that I have used this product within the last five years. Both times it has worked flawlessly. I have a Toro manual/electric start wouldn't turn over at all after winter storage even through I drained the gas before putting it away for the winter. First snowfall it didn't even sound like it wanted to turn over. Drained the fresh gas I had just put in. Already had the purge valve installed from the last time I used this product. Attached the hose from the can, sprayed some product in, waited till some spilled out(as directed) then let it sit for 20 minutes (as per instructions). After 20 minutes one more shot of product pulled the manual start 2x started right up. It is a little expensive but a lot less than bringing it to a repair shop. Highly recommend !

CleanCarburetor seems to work pretty well, as long as the main jet in your carbeurator isn't totally clogged. If it is, this probably won't do much. I'd strongly recommend getting a set of needles to clean the carb jet first. Generally, my order of operations when trying to clean a carb is: 1. Drain the fuel completely from the fuel tank. 2. Drain any excess fuel from the carb's fuel bowl using the small screw on the bottom. 3. Flutter the fuel float to try and unclog the fuel jet. Remove the float if necessary and clean it using Seafoam or a cleaner or similar. Wipe down everything you've removed. 4. Install the CleanCarb purge valve into the fuel bowl. 5. Use a cleaning needle to clean both the fuel jet (the hole that the fuel bowl plugs and unplugs) and the main jet (the hole that the screw that attaches the fuel bowl screws into). 6. Reassemble, and then use CleanCarburetor to clean any remaining cruft out of the main jet. 7. Run the engine with a generous helping of Seafoam or Stabil Fast Fix and new fuel. 8. Treat all of your fuel from now on with either Seafoam or Stabil 360, and run your engines once a month or more frequently to ensure nothing dries out in the jets. Do all of that and you can get away with just running your summer tools once a month in the winter and your winter tools once a month in the summer for about 30 minutes. Nothing dries out, nothing gums up, everything works when you need it to work.

Toro snow blower would not start. Replacing the spark plug did not help. Fuel line was fine. Cleaning carb was last resort prior to taking into a small engine shop. Came across this product while searching for directions on how to break down and clean the carb. Gave it a try and I was very pleasantly surprised! After application per directions, the blower started right up! Product is easy to use and does the "dirty" work!

I always run the gas out for summer. I tried to start for winter. No luck. I used electric start forever and a putter at most. I was planning to spend a lot for service. I came across this. It was delivered in less than half the time it said. Easy to hook up. After letting it sit for the 10 minutes it started instantly. It ran well! I will plan to use the summer blowout of this also.
