Quick & reliable reader
Windows 11 plug n play. No issues using with windows hello or with apps like 1password and it’s surprisingly quick. Also great that I can place it anywhere on my desk. Can recommend this little time saver without issue

Awesome! (Not working fix)
Works exactly like it should and makes like soooo much easier! If you find that it won't work when your PC is asleep, or it's been sitting idle for a while, then you need to change the driver settings. See picsOpen "Device Manager" (Google it if you don't know how to)- Click on "Biometric devices"- RIGHT-CLICK on "VeriMark DT Fingerprint Key"- Select the "Power Management" tab- UNCHECK the box that says, "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".- Click "OK" and close out Device ManagerIf you continue to have the same issues, you may have to do the same thing for the USB that it's plugged in to. Small and very functional
Easily placed near a mousepad or keyboard, this worked plug-and-play with Windows Hello. I just went to the settings and trained my fingerprints not needing any special driver or software added. It now unlocks my computer at login time and gives me a simple unlock to stored website passwords. It's a bit more secure than a PIN or password which someone else might learn by watching you use your computer. Up to you however if you want to exclude PIN and password backups if your fingerprint ceases to operate the security device. It is a good value for the money. Quite lightweight and unobtrusive. It does scan your whole fingerprint at once, but is not much bigger than a postage stamp in scanning surface.

Works with Windows 11
Compatibility:Works well with Windows 11. Drivers were installed automatically. Setting up with Windows Hello was a breeze.

Small footprint and stable, quick reading
This is a reliable and small fingerprint reader that is reliable and fast.A previous fingerprint reader would misread and require repeat scanning. Also, the older one was a swipe whereas this one is simply a light touch.I give it five stars for being plug and play. I did not have to download any drivers on my up to date Windows 11 desktop. It installed and interfaced with Windows Hello without issues.Quick scanning, easy install and reliable.

Support is horrible
The fingerprint reader works, no problem there. The issue is the tech support for the product. The unit only can store 10 fingerprints. And while it does work on multiple systems, it only can store 10 fingerprints across all systems. What is recorded in one PC cannot be used on another. This means you record your one finger for each computer you plan to use this on. (I am using it on 2 computers with a USB KVM with no problems in that aspect)While that is technically fine, and I can understand device limitations. The problem starts with attempting to remove the recorded fingerprints in the device. You have to reset the fingerprint records from the computer you recorded on (removing the fingerprint records via Windows Hello). What my problem here is that, if the computer was lost/reformatted, there's no way to remove the recorded fingerprints on the device to be able to use it again on a different system (because the option to reset fingerprint records don't show on a windows PC that never had records with the device). And technical support can't even answer this properly.for simple uses, this is already overkill. The 20+$ fingerprint reader is already good enough. It would have been good for power users, but tech support will probably know less than the owners that tinkered with this after a day or 2.

Only works on Windows
Worked fine on my Windows machine for years, but I was disappointed to find Kensington doesn't support Linux when I switched operating systems recently. Just be aware, this will not function on a Linux machine.

Finally I have found a real fingerprint reader that actually works but I had to pay dearly to get it
I've been using this for almost a week and every try on the first try on all 4 digits of my hand this Kensington finger reader works lightning fast. Yes, I definitely recommend this over the other finger readers I have tried over the years but didn't pay nearly as much for that did not work and were a pain to keep using this long without biting the bullet and getting this finger reader that is effortless to use. I even sleep better at night now thanks to the stress-free life I just started living thanks to this finger reader !
