Yamaha PSREW400 76-Key Portable Keyboard with Power Adapter

I just picked up this unit a few days ago and have been experimenting with it. I also contacted Yamaha to ask them their take on it. It is actually the best unit they make for home use, and actually it has hookups for stage use as well. It is very very beautiful, has great graphics like the screen that is actually blue instead of yellow, which is good for me, because I prefer blue to the yellow. It has 76 keys and many more sounds than the standard 61 key units that Yamaha makes. It also has many more synthesizer type sounds than their 64 key unit. You may want to get this one with some kind of stand. It is very long, although it is not really heavy. These units just sit on most stands so you can easily just take it off and put it in your lap. Everything seems to work perfectly, and like I said, it is stunningly beautiful and definitely worth the money. Yamaha makes excellent keyboards and this is one of them. Perfect for beginners like myself.

I wanted an affordable portable keyboard that would introduce me to all the possibilities of an electronic/digital instrument while at the same time allow me to learn and make music that was satisfactory to my ear. This keyboard has succeeded on all my expectations. I really don't think I could find another keyboard in the same "class" that was any better than this one. I will some day in the future upgrade to a 256 polyphony digital keyboard, but in the meantime this one is perfect. After owning and playing acoustic pianos, it is pure joy to know that I will never have to pay someone to "tune" this keyboard. The promotional materials position this keyboard not only as "entry-level" but also targeted for the "beginner." I am not "entry-level" and certainly not a beginner. But I also didn't want to make a huge investment in a keyboard without knowing all the ins-and-outs of these instruments. I play this keyboard every day and I am totally happy with it.

This is an amazing keyboard. It has a quality tone that is excellent for the price. So far, the only negative is the head set/ear buds plugs into the back of the instrument rather that the front. This is not a major problem though. Al B.

I just love my new keyboard. I previously had a Yamaha PSR that I used for nearly 20 years and it finally quit on me. Have had no problems with the new keyboard thus far and I really love the extra keys on the PSREW400. Great sound and easy to operate and play. For the money, I just don't think this keyboard can be beat. Recently played it at church with a couple of other musicians and they were completely blown away at what I was able to do, even though I am not really a great pianist at all.

Great product but only half the power adapter was included.

Just received this yesterday. Of course, there are so many features that I have not had time to explore them all, but the Grand Piano sound is great. I love having a Harpsichord, and many other voices as well. I was looking for computer interfaces, and the ability to record and save tracks, and this has all of that.

As a child I had several years of piano lessons but now at 78 years old I have to relearn how to play with hands stiffened by arthritis. But I am determined to do so with this tremendous keyboard. The grand piano voice is as close to an acoustic as humanly possible (my opinion). My only complaint is that the sound volume of the highest octave is barely discernible no matter how hard I press the keys. The demo presents the fantastic potential of the keyboard, intimidating me! I am extremely happy with my purchase and hope to eventually pass it on to my grandchildren. I'm a happy camper, thank you Yamaha.

Very fine product for the price. I am used to a much more sophisticated keyboard and I miss the ability to tune individual components of chord accompaniment. Voices are not as varied or as good but what do you want? The last keyboard costs 50 times this much in 1988. I'm happy. Portable is nice although that was not really a factor in my purchase decision.
