I purchased one of these lifters when I had my first knee replacement. This was one of best items I had during my recovery. It's lightweight and easy to use. I never had a problem slipping the loop over my foot. Because I found this item so helpful in my own recovery I have given one as a pre-surgery gift to friends going in for knee replacement surgery. They loved it and appreciated how much it helped them in their recovery. I am getting ready for my second surgery and have purchased a second one to have at home in case I lose my original in rehab. I can't imagine facing this kind of surgery without it. A must to have.

I bought this for my brother who is recovering from a broken pelvis, vertebrae and tailbone. During his stay in a rehab facility he mentioned he used a leg lifter, but I never saw him use it. When I saw this, I thought it was similar to what he'd been using and would be useful during his recuperation at home. Unfortunately, I didn't realize it was not identical and, in fact, this product is much shorter than the one he had been using. When this arrived, he found it to be too short and, therefore, of no use to him. Fortunately, he's recovered enough that a leg lifter is not essential so he will do without rather than try to locate a longer version.

It would have been a great idea if it had worked. In using this it msde the leg move too much and the hip where the surgery is very unstable. It does hurt unless your intention is to use it after 6 months after surgery. I don't advise it anytime sooner than that. Week 2 it had unraveled at the end it could have caused a slip off my foot and that would have been terrible. Please keep in mind, you need to check the stitching before depending on something that can became unstable. Be safe

once i get the loop over my foot, it works as intended. the loops stay collapsed and it's frustrating to get it to open fully. many successful moves means the thing is wedged in my toes and can be uncomfortable if not painful.

Nice product. I wish the loop was a bit bigger for the foot
