Great tank and overall design
2nd Update: I've used these tanks for about 2.5 years and other than my initial issue listed below, have had zero problems since. They are extremely durable. Two different times, I've "rolled" them out the back of my truck when I didn't have a better way to unload them due to the weight of being full. While i wouldn't recommend this on a regular basis, the tanks had no issue (they flexed when hitting the ground but nothing broke). I've used them in the winter and even with freezing weather, had no issue with fixtures (for those that live in colder climates, wrapping them with foil bubble wrap used for wrapping pipes does wonders to minimize freezing during day hours). They've been a great way to transport and store water when I camp. Changing review to 5 stars based on quality and durability.UPDATE: After posting my initial review (included below), in less than 8 hours, I had a response from Wendy at Smart Tanks. She was very apologetic and offered to send a new tank and pick up the original tank that I had an issue with. Fortunately, I had already loosened the threaded connection, applied some caulk suitable for incidental food contact (or water in this case) and after retightening, allowing it to dry and refilling the tank, my leak was fixed. After solving my minor issue myself, I felt compelled to change my rating from 2 stars to 4 stars. While I had an issue, it was quickly fixed and had I not found a quick fix, Smart Tanks would have replaced the tank. I was very impressed with the company's concerns for customer satisfaction. This is the type of company one wants to do business with.ORIGINAL POST (WITH 2 STAR RATING): I bought two of these tanks to haul and store water when I dry camp. Love the design: easy to handle considering size and weight when full, but first time I filled them, one of the two leaks where the hose valve/spigot is installed. Maybe my leaky one is a fluke but check it before using. I found my leak after soaking contents in the back of my truck on a two hour drive to my camper with two full tanks also loaded.

Lots of extra plastic and glue - needed a good clean out
Overall very nice and heavy duty, but there was lots of extra glue and plastic all over the inside/outside. I had to wash them out well before trusting them with water. I'm not sure I would feel comfortable using them for drinking water with all the little plastic flecks and glue strings I had to wash out. Maybe filter the water you get out of these just to be sure or be extra sure you wash them well. Then maybe they should be ok.The good:Very sturdy and strong. Nice shape and nice that they stack well. Stack them empty and then fill with water of course - 50 gallons of water is very heavy. No leaks, valves don't drip, they look sturdy too. Good water tanks and heavy duty. Have had them for a year and a half and no problems.

What can I say, it hold water.
This one in on the upper end of the price scale for storage, but it is very sturdy and the lower spout makes it very easy to use when water is needed.

Does the job.
It's a big plastic tub. It holds water. Not much more to say. Sure it has a plastic tub smell, it's plastic after all. But in an emergency that extra water will be a life saver.

Avoid at all costs.
Avoid!Mine arrived improperly connected and leaked. I spoke with seller and they mentioned to tighten the connections. It felt very tight already to I gave it just a little push and it broke, flooding my work station, destroying tools and materials in the process. So for me, not only did this waste of product not work correctly on arrival, it broke when following sellers instructions and cost me even more money in losses.

They hold water so far.
As stated in other remarks, the tanks were very dirty. On the inside of one of the tanks were plastic shavings from where the holes were drilled, either from the top or the bottom. I washed them out three times or so and hopefully got it out. Filled the tanks up to around 3/4 full and let sit to check for leaks. none so far. one of the caps will not align correctly to screw on but manage to get it on somewhat. Will have to tighten the bottom faucet on one of the tanks as it is loose. As of this moment the tanks hold water. As for care and craftsmanship, not so much. I am planning on using them for long storage drinking water. Guess we will see.
