6 oz Freeties - Freeze Dried Candy

Too much money for a small bag, but it tasted great

I’ve seen so many freeze dried goodies on TikTok, I had to see what all of the hype was about! They arrived in good condition, not too much crushing seemed to have happened in transit. Flavor wise, expect traditional skittle flavor. I personally thought the flavor in these was a tad more intense than in regular skittles, which we found quite enjoyable. Texture wise, they have the best crunch ever! They are puffed up to be considerably larger than regular skittles. They reminded me of a slightly more firm cheese puff. My son is very sensitive to texture when it comes to food, and is therefore incredibly picky. He couldn’t get enough of these! Won’t be buying on a regular basis, but will for sure purchase again in the near future!

I first tried freeze dried skittles at a street fair. I purchased 1 bag and tried to parse them out so they would last. They did not last. I went on Amazon and tried a few and these are definitely the best! I’ve purchased them 32 times so far! They are always fresh and if some are broken well they are freeze dried, it’s bound to happen! The folks making these are very good at what they do. The candy is always fresh and delicious so they are consistent. I don’t dare try any other freeze dried candies or I will be broke!

Firstly, these are absolutely incredible!! Very crispy and the freeze drying process just completely enhances the flavor profile. They are seriously addictive! A lot less sticky then normal skittles as well, these are more akin to a sweet Cheeto puff texture wise. The main issue is you don’t get many skittles for the price you pay. These are definitely overpriced and i get that the equipment is expensive but it reaches a point where it becomes a silly purchase. Especially since skittles has their own official freeze dried candy now anyway which is cheaper and gives you more for the price.

This seems to be a very "line in the sand" type of snack, which ai found rather surprising. While I didn't expect it to be "like eating a Skittle," I did find that I did not enjoy the texture or flavor of it. So, I brought it in to work, where it was promptly devoured by three of my female coworkers. One of them took a sample home for her son, who would not touch them. Maybe this snack is better for women than men? I don't know. But while I *would* consider bringing them in to work for my coworkers, the price is... Well... To be frank it's pretty steep for what you get. If *I* liked the snack, that wouldn't be a problem, I'd just budget and hoard it. But as a "freebie" I give away at work? Pretty pricey. I'll still consider it a good gift for those that enjoy it, though.

I can't eat most candy due to my teeth. These are easy to chew. It's almost like chewing popcorn or peanuts. They are Skittles, so they taste like Skittles! Freshness is on point. Very few crushed ones even though Amazon delivered the 3 inside of a bubble mailer for delivery. You can't beat the price of these 6oz bags. I got 3 of them for about $17 for a total of 18 ounces. I wish I had a machine that could make candy like this!
