best designed usb-C dockI received discounted product in exchange for my honest review.I work with computers and this is one of the best designs and for a USB dock you can have. Most people don't realize that you need the extra power connection when using all 3 ports AT MAX SPEED (it will work with out power for low drain items like thumb drives or wireless mouse dongle) it is not a limitation on the dock but it is a limit with in USB protocol standards for power utilization. With the extra power plugged in I was able to use high powered devices like multiple USB HDDs at once. The transfer speeds were great and power still worked on my tests.The color is very nice and will match popular "gold tone laptops" on the market.The body is metal construction and it feel like a quality product as soon as you hold it.The best thing about the design that most people do not value is the short cable. USB ports can break pretty easy when you have a lot of weight plugged into to them. especially when the laptop is in your lap or not on a flat surface. This design allows for all the dock to lay down and shift the weight from the usb plug down to the dock. Smart! it will last longer this way.I would recommend this dock to any one with the new laptops with a few ports. this is way value for the money (half other companies), built very well, matches color scheme, and it just works.EXTRAS in the packageEveryone loves free stuff. this comes with a free "Flexable USB Reading Light." (The black item above the dock in the pictures) very nice level of brightness good for lighting a paper or notebook next to your laptop when working. it might be a little to bright to use in the bed if you have another person trying to sleep. but hey its free!

I received this item at reduced charge in exchange for my honest, fair and unbiased review. I'm a pretty heavy user of USB products. I have tons of power banks, flashlights, radios, and hard drives that are usb powered. This little guy works great and is nice while I'm on the go because I often find myself needing to use and charge various usb products at the same time.I spent alot of my life using horrible cheap usb chargers and then wondered why things took so long to charge or transfer. Since I started learning about USB I've definitely found that you do get your money's worth when you buy good brand name products over the $1.99 shipped stuff that you find on ebay.

This product is a must-have for owners of a newer MacBook. The move to a single USB-C port means that not only were all of my devices no longer compatible with my laptop, but also that I could only have one connected at a time. This device allows you to connect all your devices again, and I honestly can't imagine how Apple intended for us to use our computers without it.
