I have both this item and a 5-blade masher, and I prefer this one with 4 blades--especially when working with meat (pork, beef, chicken)1) Four blades cut better and apply 20% more cutting/mashing force than the 5 blades2) Meat doesn't get as packed into the crevice with the 4 straight blades as with the 5 curved blades3) Less food attaches to the 4 straight blades--less waste, easier to clean.BOTTOM LINE: I haven't used the 5-bladed masher since.

I LOVE my spatula. The shape was such a good idea. I use my Instant Pot several time a week, and do use the feature often to brown first. Since using this spatula, When switching to stew or soup, I never get the warning that food is burning on the bottom. I believe it is due to this spatula's design to scrape! It has become my 'go to' item no matter what I'm cooking.
