How loud is the fan? Compare to an oven fan maybe?

It's a little loud but u just turn the TV up a little more when it's running....but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this product!!! It works fast and very effective.

What is the difference between pic2, pic gold, and pic flex? I am a little confused of which one I should get?

I found this online: The strongest one is PIC Titanium with 1800 watts. Gold is 1500 and Flex is 1300.

will it heat a steel can inside a glass jar with the glass jar on the cooktop?

First, don't do this. If it works, the can will get hot and it will transfer that heat to the glass. You'll probably shatter the jar by having it get very hot in a small area while remaining cool everywhere else. That being said, induction cookers work by generating a magnetic field with causes magnetic metal to heat up. If the can is close enough to the cooktop, it will heat up even while inside the glass jar.
