Not very thick more like felt the sides do not stick very well. I bought 2 sided gel tape for edges. The do the job makes stairs not as slick. When shipped they fold them and causes a crease in some which makes it difficult to flatten out. I laid them out flat in a stack for 24hours that helped some what.

These did the job to add some traction to my slippery wood stairs for my elderly dog. Not quite enough, and I might still have to buy some (ugly) carpet treads. I'll give it a little more time and see if he gets used to these, though they are a huge improvement over the bare wood. They aren't exactly slippery, but I would not run down the stairs with confidence the way I would with carpeted stairs. The closest thing I could compare it to is the feeling of thin felt. There is no nap to dig into.I like that these are much more attractive than traditional carpet treads. They are thinner and fade into the decor better with my grey walls. I bought the "light grey" color. My stairs are light maple color with grey streaks. Happy with my color choice.I have had them on for two months and work from home, so I go up and down the stairs all day long. So far, they have adhered well with no peeling up. When I applied them, I dusted and cleaned the steps well and then swiped them with a cloth lightly dampened with rubbing alcohol. So far, so good.

Bought it for my pet because she keeps slipping on the stairs— the tape was a great width and has great durability so far. Easy to use and great value. Love the fact that it’s in roll form so I can customize it to my stairs. Plenty of tape in one roll— looking forward to seeing how it works out. Easy to install

I purchased these treads to replace the ones heading to my cellar. It seemed to be an easy project. We kept them in the correct temp, and laid them out as instructed. When I peeled the backing off the first one I thought it may be defective. The only thing this tread would stick to is super glue. SO, after opening others, we realized this was the norm. So, we purchased double sided tape that was "stretchy" and it wouldn't work. Finally, after 3 days, my husband grabbed his power stapler and, in less than 10 minutes, all are in place.

Very cheaply made. They’re more like felt than carpet. They don’t stick, the edges curl up and they wrinkle. I want to pull up the carpet on my stairs to remodel, but my dog needs treads so she doesn’t fall on the stairs. These would be hazardous for both of us. They should not list these as “carpet.”

These things are the perfect solution....not sticky, but just enough friction ti stay put.They feel great on bare feet...like a natural skin from animal but better because it's man made material.

These are easy to install but the adhesive backing is not very sticky. It did not stick to my stairs at all. The size was a good fit.They are very very thin. Mine arrived with wrinkles in them that would not come out. I was expecting a better quality tread for the money. I am returning these. I found some at a local department store that worked perfectly and they were only $12

I needed some no-slip tape to stick on my wooden stairwells after my pup slipped down a few times. This roll is great because you can customize the size/length you need. The roll is much heavier duty than I imagined it to be, which is good, i hope the traction lasts a good amount of time.

I like the carpet stair treads as they have made our stairs so much safer for our 15 year old papillon. They were very easy to install and the adhesion is excellent as I vacuumed them and there was no lifting at all. They are also a great price.

These are thin but that's what I wanted. They stick really well and easy to install. Bought them because our dog had leg surgery. They work perfectly for her to get up and down the stairs easily, without slipping. For the price, can't go wrong.

These are great. I've been using them for a month now. They help protect the stairs. While wearing socks though, be careful, depending on the fabric of your socks your feet can slip. It sticks great and after a month of heavy use with 2 adults, 1 child and 1 medium dog and one large dog, only one is starting to pull off the stair. The vacuum doesn't pull it off the stairs either and they are also easily swept with a broom. I'll order these again when my current ones get too worn.
