The Surfcaster's Guide to the Striper Coast [Muller, D. J.] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. The Surfcaster's Guide to the Striper Coast Review: Buy this book... - I grew up fishing in Long Island Sound - mainly looking for snapper, flounder, and some bluefish. Once I left the island for college, I gave it up. Many years later, I began fishing Maine, Maryland, and Virginia lakes and fell back in love with the sport with a much greater intensity for the sport and appreciation of the quiet solitude away from work. I've been interested in surfcasting for a long time, but never knew where to begin. Muller's book is more than a checklist for the beginner, but reads more like one man's journal of best and worst experiences on the shore - from taking his first waves on jetties to hauling large stripers off the coast of a big surf, cold spray, and low-temp Montauk Point. Interwoven throughout the personal stories are best practices for surfcasting, preparation, safety, and conservation of the species and the future of the sport. Again, this isn't a textbook on how to become a world-class surfcaster, but rather a fun, engaging, and interesting look at one individual's passion that is downright contagious. Review: Excellent. - We made an appointment to go with the author as a guide. I read the book before the appointment. It has much information. All interesting and nicely written. I was unfortunately unable to go that day with him as a guide, but I really feel like I got a wealth of information from the book which was the next best thing. I haven't seen other books written for the surf caster. I would recommend this to any surfcaster. Even if you think that know it all, you can get a few more tips to increase your catch rate.

Knowledge is Power
Great read, loaded with knowledge from striped bass expert DJ. Muller and his Mentors. I cannot believe how many things i was unaware of, or doing wrong. First day trying ed brusso's clam rig on a live mullet, 6/0 under chin n 4/0 through tail, I got a striper when 25 other anglers on same beach got zippo. if your serious about what you do in life and want to become a better fisherman then this is a definite must have (period).

A lot of information for the Striper Fisherman
Having grown up in Florida, I have fished by myself since age eight. For the last 30 years I have lived in New Jersey/Pennsylvania, but have never fished the surf. I am very ignorant of the process needed to be successful. So I have been reading, Skinner, Zeno, Surfcasters Journal and anything else I can find on the subject--no friends fish the surf. I found Muller's books very informative and insightful to my situation-we'll see in a few weeks.

Surfcasters Bible
DJ writes a very tight, well balanced and easy to read guide to surfcasting, reflecting his experience with bait as well as lures. Tries , successfully , to help the reader understand what will work best under certain conditions. This is a reference that you will go back to time and time again. Thanks DJ, both books are terrific.

Book Review
This book is the most helpful, informative book on striper fishing I have read. As a transplant from the mid-west, I was not well versed on striper fishing. Very specific information is intelligently provided, often the kind of facts many fishermen do not share. As primarily a boat fisherman, the product was still enormously valuable. This book is more than worth the price. I have shared several copies with friends.

I love it, because the author wrote it with a good pen. clear, easy to understand, with a lot of technic . I learned a lot.It is very good for every fisherman of stripers. You can find inside how to prepare and to fish your future exit and how to correct your last exit.
