In a world of magic, Asta, a boy with anti-magic powers, will do whatever it takes to become the Wizard King! Asta is a young boy who dreams of becoming the greatest mage in the kingdom. Only one problem—he can't use any magic! Luckily for Asta, he receives the incredibly rare five-leaf clover grimoire that gives him the power of anti-magic. Can someone who can't use magic really become the Wizard King? One thing's for sure—Asta will never give up! Young Asta was born with no magic ability in a world where magic is everything. In order to prove his strength and keep a promise with his friend, Asta dreams of becoming the greatest mage in the land, the Wizard King! Review: Great Series. Worthy Of Animation. - Just keeps getting better. It starts just a little slow, but once it kicks off it is one thing after another. All of the events that take places are really entertaining. I never really get bored of this. I really hope this becomes a big anime someday. The characters have their own fun quirks, but they can still restrain their silliness and be seriousness when need; At least to some degree. It makes it believable that they are able to do so. Everyone has their reasons for doing what they are doing, and have their own failings that they try or do learn to overcome. The main character is a underdog, after all he has no magic compared to the rest of the magic based world. He does though, have a ability to make up for it if he learns and works to use it better. He is silly, a little bit of a dork, but he is and can be very serious where it is needed. He works hard and earns his strength, you see the characters grow and master their skills. Basically, he is a silly guy that seriously works hard and he is actually a calm and smart character. He is not just a idiot that charges straight in like Naruto. If things do not work out, he figures out what he is doing wrong, or figures out a weakness to exploit. I really like his character, basically the same can be said about his rival. It reminds me of Naruto; Quality and possibly long lasting potential that is. Appropriate for kids, yet hides in more mature and dark material that adults would be more familiar with as well. The darker stuff is done in a way that you get the point more if your a adult, but not too gruesome that it would be bad for kids. The art is fantastic, and I do not really think there were many, if any, translation issues. Personally, I did not notice any. It is worth every penny. Review: Hooked from the beginning! - I've read several mangas, but nothing was able to keep my undivided attention besides Naruto and THIS. I feel so happy just thinking about it. The art is simply exquisite. I find myself admiring the art in EVERY page which is something new to me. The creator pays attention to little and big details, so much so that you can clearly picture each scene in your mind. The story is great. You have a mixture of mystery, comedy, drama, and action. You also can't help but fall in love with the characters as well. Even the royals are funny, despite their "high horse"/prideful personality. In fact, that personality is what makes them loveable. Every knight has the desire to protect the people of the country they're living in, and they do their job extremely well. In addition, the creator never forgets the story and strays away from its plot, giving the story a strong foundation and backbone. Asta, the MC, doesn't have magic. To make up for that, he trains his body so hard so that he can be strong and become Wizard King. Meanwhile, his rival and best friend/family, Juno is naturally talented at magic. They're not enemies, and they always get excited when they come across each other's path. When one becomes stronger, the other is genuinely excited for him and wants to get stronger too. No hate, just love! HOW REFRESHING!!!! What I love most is that the manga doesn't just focus on one character's growth. It takes into consideration all characters, and gives them equal attention. It doesn't put too much emphasis on rivals as it also focuses on building bonds, teamwork, and surpassing your limits. I am currently on Volume 7, and I still have a hard time putting it down! Thank you Tabata-sensei for this blessing of a gem!

A must read shoneun series!!!!!! :D
Black Clover is me and my mom's favorite shoneun series, so I decided to start collecting the manga for us to read together. We can both honestly say that this is one of the best shoneun series out there (in our opinions lol!). It has a the very classic and charming "Powerless underdog that turns out to be the greatest, most powerful character through hard work, perseverance, and.... FRIENDSHIP (or love wink wink Noelle)" plot thing going on, but at the same time, it's plot is super unique and I swear the plot twists and big reveals are ALWAYS hype-worthy. The Black Bulls all seem so one-note at first but their individual character development is so exciting to witness & this goes for other characters as well. The battle scenes get super heated and there have been several cry-worthy moments, but at the same time, there are tons of light-hearted and hilarious moments/scenes (that mostly involve Asta XD) that balance the series' mood out. I could write a whole book about why this series is a must read/watch, but I'll leave it at this already incredibly long paragraph X3

Actually a very good volume 1, artwork is impressive, great pacing
I’ve seen the first two seasons of the anime, and I enjoyed it even with its flaws, enough to own them on blu-ray, but wow I have to say the manga is so much better it’s unreal. The artwork is amazing, it’s even more impressive it’s only a volume 1, as more often than not early volumes of anything are a little rough around the edges. This is funny too, I laughed out loud a lot while reading this, I honestly think the humor is better suited for the manga than it is animation. I seriously thought everything about this was better than the anime, if you like the anime even a little bit, I highly suggest checking out the manga. I had no idea what I was missing, and I regret having slept on the manga for so long. This might be my favorite volume 1 out of all the more recent shonen manga I’ve read, and I’ve read almost all of them. I’m going to place an order for 2-25 so I can catch up to current volumes/chapters, looking forward to the later arcs!

Anime vs. Manga which will be better?
Absolutely amazing the black clover anime is my favorite anime and just from the first volume I can tell that the manga will be just as or even more awesome than the anime. It was delivered fast and undamaged. If you are planning on getting into manga then black clover is fs the way to go.

I will be
The wizard king. People love to save this is similar but there KS nothing new under the sun .This unique story is set in a world of magic with the main character lacking it.

good start
Great start to a great shonen. I'd heard sort of eh things about the anime but always heard awesome things about the manga. this first volume has a good bit of reading and exposition but the paneling and pace are very well done. If I had to liken it to anything, i'd say its a more actiony fairy tail with less crying (lol), with some shades of naruto with asta being the naruto standin and yuno as his dark haired stoic rival . Asta is a great protagonist, can be a little grating at times with his endless amounts of energy, but he has that sense of confidence and bravery and never wanting to give up thats truly admirable. got this for my niece for the next time i see her so i'm sure she'll like it

Good manga, Good star!
As a super-fan for Naruto and shounen genre in general, this is very recommended! It is a bit fast-paced but it still is really good as a start, I love the friendship and rivalry between the 2 main cahracters, it's different.. I expect it to have potential for later
