Clever... but being a German invention, works better with continental eggs
The headline is not a joke: British eggs tend to be smaller, rounder and with a thicker shell than French, Dutch or German ones... meaning that the metal bell doesn't fit perfectly and sometimes you'll need to try "ringing" it twice or more. With the underlying risk of seeing the egg explode...

Waste of money
The top has fallen off two of these that I bought which means they no longer work. One of them fell off the first time it was used. Complete waste of money.

Not a clean cut...
As many times as i try, i cannot achieve the nice clean circular cut required to take the top off. It either just shatters a circle, which i have to complete with a teaspoon, or cuts clean on one side and does nothing on the other. Basically, i might just as well stick to the old teaspoon method and tolerate my fingers getting burnt! Not impressed.

Disappointing
This item worked brilliantly. We used it once a week for 6 weeks and then the knob on the top dropped off. Totally unrepairable. A waste of money.

Read a lot of bad reviews however it seems that most of the negative ones are unfairly made.The item is very easy to use and you need to know how to if not evidently you will break anything if you use too much pressureUsed this for a long time now and in perece y working order

Initially good but soon broke
Performed well for about 5 months but then fell apart and became useless! Not worth buying if it only lasts that long, shame as it became useful for opening boiled eggs and will be missed. Might replace with a superior model with 5 star review!

Buy very small eggs
Utter rubbish. Be careful with size of eggs. The large egg exploded in my husband's face. Give it a miss....
