RSPB Spotlight Crows

I do enjoy watching corvids with their intelligence, calls and their own particular strutting walk! My favourite is the magpie.It has interesting info (eg I never knew a jay was a corvid!) and it doesn’t bog you down with unnecessary facts. This is a tremendous book about corvids. As well as crows, it covers rooks, ravens, magpies, jackdaws, jays and choughs. That makes it a really refreshing, thorough read as many similar books just focus on crows. These RSPB Spotlight books are so well written and structured, with lots of fascinating information and nice photos of our feathered friends, yet they're succinct at the same time with no words wasted. Corvids are flourishing, which is great, but my heart breaks at the imperilled state of so many other species.

We have a influx of crows, rooks, jackdaws and magpies into our area of late. We have a pair of magpies nesting at the bottom of our allotment plot. They are fascinating to watch and listen too. They are a boon as they are always mooching about eating bugs and other vermin. This book is a great introduction to the corvid family, easy to read and informative. Thoroughly, recommened

Although the title refers to crows, this is in fact an excellent book about all corvids - rooks, jays, ravens, and magpies. The book features beautiful colour illustrations of these birds. Highly recommend for anyone interested in learning about corvids.

It's a very good book, very explanatory.It did take a while to come but worth it if you're interested in learning about crows.

An easy read that was full of information

Unfortunately the print size and colour makes it quite hard to read. For this reason only I'm giving it 2 stars.
