Zebra 0.5mm Black Gel Ink Refill (RJSB5-BK), for Zebra Multi Function Pen Shabo X Ballpoint Pen, × 5 Pack/total 5 pcs (Japan Import) [Komainu-Dou Original Package]

This is my go to refill ink on all my pens. It is smooth and doesn’t smear. Downside of it being a gel ink, it does seem to run out relatively quickly.

Works well for what I needed. No smearing. Writes smoothly.

I bought these because of a reddit post that said these work with the Huion Note X-10 and can confirm they do! So much nicer than writing with ball point.

These pen refills write really smooth but be warned they don't last long!

Since the hot topic with these refills is how they can't write for long, I wanted to objectively see for myself. I loaded this refill into a Zebra Techo T-3 Mini Pen and wrote in a 9.75" by 7.5" wide-ruled composition book until the refill died. I was expecting about 3 pages or so but was kinda blown away when I got just shy of 10 and a half pages. This is my first experience with D1 refills, and now I feel like they are kinda legit if you wanna carry a very small pen.

Great flow and smooth writing. These fit perfectly to replace a portable pen. Great value and worked better than expected. Will purchase again.

Yes that was a bit of an exaggeration about the amount of words you get out this refill, I do not know how many words you can write per refill but I do know it is not that many. I love how these write, it dries quick, didn’t have any issues with smudging, ink blobs, or running ink. They would be the perfect refill for my cross pen if they lasted. I guess that is the nature of the best having this size pen but every other refill I have tried last 2-3 times longer at least. I also did have to put a piece of clear scotch tape on the end so it would stay in place and not fall out, I could easily deal with that though if I wasn’t going through at least one refill every week. I have had 1 or 2 of these that did last quite a while but the other 6+ I’ve used did not, so I am not entirely sure if it’s hit and miss or what the deal is. I do know I cannot afford to buy these when they only last a couple days.

I filled 30 of 48 pages of my 3.5" x 5.5" Field Notes pad with one of these refills. The ink is smooth and much darker than the Uni Jetstream refill (SXR-200-05). I prefer this ink and will continue to use it in my pad

Price is really good and working good and good shape

I like Sharbo pens, but I hate these cartridges. They run out so fast. Within a couple of days and filling a few sides of A5 paper, they are gone. Previously, Sharbo cartridges have tended to last me at least a few months, as one would expect with a high quality pen. But these cartridges are clearly inferior quality. I want a refund, as this is a rip-off.

There is unfortunately not many options when it comes gel refills in the small D1 format. D1 is mainly used in smaller pens or commonly in multi-colour and multi-refill pens. Pens like this typically use the ballpoint refills, like my Rotring 600 3 in 1. Since I can't stand writing with ballpoint ink (except maybe the Uniball Jetstream), having the option of using gel with the Zebra JSB-0.5 was enticing for me. Each refill is about $3, which is not cheap considering the volume of ink that can fit in the D1 refill. The Zebra JSB-0.5 ink fits perfectly in my Rotring 600 3 in 1 pen. Writing with this Zebra refill is generally good, that is mostly smooth without skipping. However, it is not as smooth as the Pilot G2 or Uniball Signo DX pens and refills. The ink is dark but again, not as dark as the G2 or Signo DX. Despite the Zebra JSB not being my favourite gel ink, it is certainly much, much better than the Rotring ballpoint refills that came with my Rotring 600 pen. While the ink didn't last as long as all my other gel pens, it certainly wasn't terrible. I would still recommend the Zebra JSB-0.5 Gel Refill if you want a good quality gel ink in the D1 format.
