For me, this brand beats out any other brand I've had precisely because it's so fresh & pungent (that has been my experience w/ ALL of the Spice Hunter spices I've tried, BTW, but they've become too pricey on Amazon ~ pick one up from the grocery store if it's cheaper there, cuz it's good!

It's pepper. Not sure how to rate it. It looks like pepper, tastes like pepper, makes you sneeze if inhaled. Works well on food. Would recommend it if you need pepper.
