I have 2 wall AC units without thermostats, these work great.
There's a small instruction sheet for setup that's not too difficult. Plug in the wall unit part first, then put batteries in the thermostat while being within 10 feet of the wall plug. There will be some lights flashing while it pairs. (you can use multiple units in the same house without them interrupting each other.) This is also the time for you to select heating or cooling depending on the type of appliance you are using and if you wish to use imperial or metric units. Once you are done you can place the thermostat up to 60 feet away (keep in mind the higher/further you place it the warmer the room will be). I also recommend using metric for higher electric savings as the unit operates by turning on 1 degree above your set temperature and turns off 1 degree below (or inverted for heat) and centigrade units being 1.8x larger you get a wider span between the two. I'm estimating a $17/month savings right now on each at 21 cents/KWH.

Gets The Job Done, Good Enough!
I was a bit hesitant to purchase this after seeing all the melted outlet photos posted by others, but I've been using this for months with no problems. Just make sure the wattage/amps for whatever you're plugging into it is under 80% of the rated 15a / 1800w and you're good to go. It's been working perfectly fine with my window AC unit, and it hasn't burnt down my house yet!The window AC unit I have really sucks at deciding when to turn off. This outlet makes it so I don't have to stand up and walk across the room to turn the AC unit on or off, since the temperature probe is inside the remote control (which is nice!) but the threshold that this outlet turns on and off at is still a bit too "wide" for me. (I think it's about 1 degree of difference.) For example, if I set the target temp to 82 F and it's 82.4 in here, I need to wait for the room temp to increase to 83 for it to start cooling. Or if the target temp is set to 82 and it's 82.9 in here (and it's cooling) I need to wait for the room to cool down to 81.0 for it to turn off. I wish it would turn off at 81.5 instead. If there was a way to change this threshold from 1 degree to 0.5 degrees, it would be perfect.Which brings me to the ease of use... you HAVE to read the instructions to figure out the weird button combinations in order to navigate the menus, change the temp units, etc. It's really not intuitive. Plus, the button layout seems backwards. You have to click the left button to increase, and the right button to decrease the temp. Seems like almost always the + is on the right, and - is on the left.Overall though, pretty happy with this purchase. Battery life seems decent. I've been using this for almost 3 months and the batteries haven't run out yet.

Works great
This works great. We have a wood stove and use this to turn on and off a box fan to circulate heat out of the room.

works good so far
Im using this in my insulated shed workshop to run my electric heater. i keep it at 55 at all times then bump it up to a warmer temp when im working. keeps the temp within 2 degrees all the time and the temp seems accurate at least to the feel on the room. Happy so far

Awesome for my chicken coop
Wanted to add a small heater for my chicken coop. This works great. Just set up the temps I want it to turn on & off and plug in the heater. Can monitor the temp in the coop with a temp sensor I bought seperatly as for as great as this is. The temp sensor is in the remote SO the remote has to be where the plug is. So if I want to adjust the setting that means I have to go out to the coop to make any changes and leave the remote in the coop. Only down side to this. Otherwise its a great concept.

Not worth the money
The item does not shut down the heater when it reaches the set temperature, it just runs all night

Works Great, If You Have Just One
This is the second one of these I’ve purchased. The first one worked great for a space heater in my bedroom. I decided to add another space heater in the living room. That’s when I realized you can’t have more than one of these thermostats in the same house. The living room sensor keeps connecting to the bedroom outlet switch. I guess they didn’t take this into consideration during the design phase. Now I have to look for something different. If you only need one I recommend itIf you need more than one, look for something else.

Can't live without it, more comfortable, saves electricity.
Love it. Have bought 4. Need 3. One died. Really precisely controls room temp. Runs A/C or electric space heater up to 1800 watts, 120 Vac. BUT, not as reliable as it should be. Regulated device must be capable of hsving its input power turn off, back on, and automatically start functioning again on its own. Saves lots of electricity.
