Removal of surface ear wax is a different story from large balls of wax, the latter really requiring professional help to avoid damage. These drops are meant more for surface buildup cleanup: you put around ten drops in your ear, leave it in place for a few minutes, then use the included bulb to flush out the drops as well as any loosened wax. It often takes a few applications (once or twice a day) to loosen some embedded wax, but this solution will slowly loosen it and help remove it with a flush of water. For larger blobs of wax and stubborn embedded coatings, you may need help from a doctor. Never stick objects in your ear too far: you can easily puncture an eardrum.

Tried it for many days with zero results. The only thing I find that works for me is mineral oil.

My oldest child has a problem with ear wax; if not taken to our family doctor it builds up so badly that hearing is an issue. Our doctor advised us to keep this product on hand and to use it every 4-6 weeks to aid in wax removal. Otherwise, it's a trip to see the doctor, screaming and pain, and a large ball of wax the size of a malted milk ball is removed from each ear - every 6 months or so. Our doctor uses the same product in her office, so this saves me a copay, paying for the meds, and gives me peace of mind, knowing my child won't be in pain until the doctor can see us. Murine has been easy to use for us and extremely effective so far; being able to stock up on several bottles at a great price made us very happy.

I would use this product at your own risk. After using these drops, I woke up with a terrible ear ache in my right ear, and had a constant ringing sound for about 3 weeks. I had to get checked out by booth my family doctor and an ENT who said that he doesn't recommend using these drops. Luckily, my hearing returned back to normal, but according to some internet research on tinnitus (ear ringing), many peoples' do not.
