Can you use this product to play CD's in an automobile with the cables provided?

I'm not sure as I do not own an automobile. You might be better off buying a CD player for your car though. Costs less and is probably more durable as it is made exclusively for driving.

Can I put batteries into it after the rechargeable battery runs out?

Hi there! Rechargeable battery inside this Sony Portable DVD player is not your regular kind of battery. If let say they died out, you will have to send it in for repair for those batteries. -Ely

Is the battery replaceable?

I have owned two of these units and I could never figure out how to replace the battery. It may be possible, if you are more technical than me. I found that the power cords go out, but you can buy very inexpensive new ones on Amazon.
