Pics cannot give this COOL item the justice it deserves.
I, too, received my trench hologram and base yesterday. I purchased this combopackage, along with the add-on Kylo Ren hologram. None of the 2D imagesshown on Amazon (nor the 'artistic' touched-up images) can do this justice.Plain and simple, this collectible is stunning. Its like the Grand Canyon. You just have to see it in personI concur with the earlier review. The image has an adequate range of viewing angles, anddoes not fade or blur until you've hit the very edge. Im impressed with how the image looksso perfectly vertical given that the plate inclines on the light base. It is very nice that theholographic plates can just be placed face-down onto the base between the attachment points, andthe rear-facing illumination in the front. This makes it easy to swap in and out the variousholographic images, and doesnt require addl storage space (for now, since there are onlytwo available). As for the image. The lines on the ships are sharp. There's no fuzziness. The laser bolts from Vader's TIE are maybe a bit fat. The sides of thetrench *so* appear fuzzy, but its appears intentional, to give the ships thelook of zooming down the trench fast. And altho its movie-accurate, I wishthe 2nd TIE right behind Vader wasnt there. The 3D depth of the trench is whatsawesome about the hologram.I look forward to many more images to come from Zebra.(p.s. I dont have the issue with the first reviewer about the foam on top of the lightbase. The one on mine seems adequately secured)

True collectible and beautiful piece, a work of art
Super item for the price, came with stand, was a gift from my niece. Only company that makes these. I would highly recommend whether you are into technology or Star Wars. I am excited about their future pieces

Limit your expectations - Totally not worth the money...
Most reviews were so positive and tech specs were so impressive that I took a chance and purchased all the holograms, expecting this to be a unique piece of art. Instead, my experience was quite underwelming. Field of view is extremely limited, details are not sharp, and 3D effects barely stand out, although most reviews who admire this piece woukd disagree. I'm not sure if my expectations were simply too high or if there was something wrong with my holograms. I opened two of them and both were disappointing though. If you are expecting clean crisp images similar to that from a good quality 3D TV, you will be sorely disappointed. The texture is similar to cheap holograms you see packaged with certain blu-ray or dvd packages. As other reviewers testify, there are blotches and dark spot imperfections. I thought there might be a protective film but there are no instructions to imply that and it isn't discernible enough to risk damaging the plate. Technology really doesn't look better than what's been around for years. On the plus side, image is in color and is quite large. Shining ultra-bright white LED light does enhance it but otherwise certainly not worth the money. I didn't even bother opening the Han Solo or Kylo Ren holograms. Additionally I contacted Zebra support to inquire if there was something I was doing wrong and never received a response. If you are still interested, i would highly recommend you see it in person first, if possible, before purchasing.

Underwhelmed.
When I was a child I saw some of the new advances in holography in a science museum. Fast forward more decades than I care to think about and we have... this. I'm disappointed to report that the holograms I saw way back as a child were of better quality than these. The only improvement I can see is that now they can use more colors in holograms. I really, really wanted to love the Zebra Imaging holograms but I just was not impressed. There was no sense of the items depicted being 'projected' forward. Yes, there's depth to the image but that's about all that can be said for it. The nose of the X-wing is completely out of focus, which detracts from the sense of depth. Mine has black spots in the image which are distracting because everything looks 3-Dish except those blasted black spots which sits there right on the surface. Don't be fooled by the pictures which imply that the image extends beyond the borders of the piece. They don't. Not one bit. The Kylo Ren version is better but still very underwhelming for me. I wish I had seen the thing in person before I bought it. Instead, I got tripped up by a video of it in which the guy absolutely insisted it looks better in real life. It really doesn't or, if it does, only marginally. I know licensed products, especially from Disney, are very expensive but I don't feel this 'toy' is worth the money they're asking. I viewed mine for a little while and then, with a strong sense of buyer's regret, packed it up and put it in storage with my other Star Wars collectibles. I should have put the money towards some Sideshow or Hot Toys figures, then I would really have a 3D thing to look at and no electricity required.
