I bought it in 2012 and things may have changed since then. Works really good, so no complaints. **Q: Does this come with a case to store it in?** A: No it doesn't. I just keep it in the box it came in. **Q: Does this unit come with the tip protector?** A: You're welcome. Those tips must wear with heavy use, but mine is still in like new condition, but I've only used twice so far.
