L'OREAL Casting Creme Gloss Hair Dye 5102 Cool Mocha

Had permanently dyed my hair and it had taken way too dark and looked very flat so left it a few weeks and put this gorgeous chocolate colour over the top of it and my hair looks very naturally rich dark brown now... and I am in search of the glossing conditioner that they're having in these boxes as it's gorgeous

323 dark chocolate brown is a lovely colour, but on me it always come out too dark brown. My hair is naturally dark brown/ black, but when I put this on, it comes out just dark brown. Not any real chocolate showing. It is still a nice colour and on me lasts about 4 weeks. 2 inches of grey comes through in my hair by then. So I have to re - colour it. Good price, good coverage - covers the grey, leaves hair very soft and shiny.

I have naturally auburn hair and use semi-permanents to liven it up a bit and blend in a few white hairs. The amber red shade came out a little darker and less bright than I expected, but it's still a lovely natural looking colour that I'm pleased with. The product smells more pleasant than many dyes while using. I liked the fact it was quick and easy to rinse off - the water ran clear very quickly and my shower didn't look like a scene from the film Carrie! It also didn't leave any stains around my hairline at all. On the downside, it was hard to break the seal on the colourant crème and to squeeze it out of the tube. It took several minutes to the point my hands were aching - really not practical! Also, the gloves provided were huge and slipped off whilst applying the dye - also not practical! Overall, the pros outweigh the cons, but I'll use my own gloves next time and see if I can find a way to make the colourant crème tube easier to work with.

Echoing the other reviews regarding issues with the new formula. I’d previously used this dye for two years, every other month, without issue. Colour was perfect, dye smelt acceptable, and I didn’t feel any discomfort. Always washed out to my natural colour after a month or so. By mid-2025, the dye had started giving me headaches, and causing my scalp to itch like mad for ~48 hours after using it. Allergy test on inner elbow was negative every time. People started commenting on how my hair was getting significantly lighter, even after the colour washed out. I can only assume they’ve upped the concentration of peroxide in the developer, which is now causing many people adverse reactions (and hair bleaching/damage). To any prospective purchasers; be careful. This product causes permanent, noticeable bleaching to hair, and permanent damage. It comes with all the side effects you’d expect from a permanent dye, with none of the benefits of actually retaining colour. Cannot recommend as it stands.

Nach Bestellung von 2 Dreier-Packs (6 Artikel) Mitte Dezember wurden zunächst nur 2 Artikel geliefert. Nach Reklamation bei AR First Aid wurde dann umgehend die Nachlieferung der fehlenden 4 Artikel angekündigt. Diese erfolgte dann im neuen Jahr Anfang Januar. Der Preis erscheint uns jedoch extrem hoch.

Der Farbton 1021 ist ein sehr schöner Farbton und die Farbe lässt sich leicht auftragen und verteilen. Ich bin gelernte Frisörin und kann aus der Sicht eines Profis diese Farbe nur empfehlen. Es gibt im Professionellen Bereich vergleichbare Farben ohne Ammoniak und Casting Creme Gloss kann sich mit diesen durchaus messen. Das Farbergebnis hängt aber selbstverständlich, wie bei allen Haarfarben, stark vom Ausgangsfarbton ab. Eine Haarfarbe in diesem Fall eine sog. Hellerfarbe kann nur ein Naturhaar aufhellen, bei bereits gefärbten Haaren kann man in der Tat lange warten. Um bereits gefärbte Haare aufzuhellen muss man blondieren da kommt man mit einer Haarfarbe nicht weiter. Schade ist es, dass auf der Packung angegeben wird, dass die Farbe auch auf bereits koloriertem Haar angewendet werden kann. Diese Aussage lässt vermuten dass man ein bereits koloriertes Haar aufhellen kann - das kann und wird nicht funktionieren, denn um künstliche Farbpigmente aufhellen bzw. "zerstören" zu können muss man blondieren und nicht färben!!! Vorsicht ist auch bei sehr hellem evtl. blondiertem Harr mit diesem Farbton geboten, denn es handelt sich um eine "Asch-Perlmutt" Nuance und diese kann auf hellen Strähnen evtl. grau oder violett werden. Für alle die aber recht viele Rotpigmente (so wie ich) im Haar haben und ein schönes, natürliches und nicht all zu "warmes" Farbergebnis erzielen möchten, sind mit diesem Farbton richtig beraten.

I reaaally reallly regret using it i dyed my hair 2 weeks ago and since then my hair is just falling non stop like the postpartum period!! Knowing i didn’t apply any chemicals on my hair for more than 5 months! In this 2 weeks i feel like i lost more than half of my hair! I don’t recommend it at all
